Integrated in the Standardization & Technical Office Team, you will work closely with other international standardization experts to positively influence product and installation standards and to protect our business interests. The goal, after appropriate training period, is that you will be able to independently shape the future of selected standards so that they eventually lead to better and safer Eaton products and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, you will be the first point of contact for selected standards to our engineering, testing, product management, product development, marketing, business development and the various sales organizations. As part of your job, you will receive and provide valuable information on planned changes to standards and on the strategic direction of competitors years in advance, keeping you involved in the latest technology trends. Your main responsibilities: Represent Eaton’s interests in standardization through active participation in national (BSI - British Standards Institution, BEAMA - British Electrotechnical and Allied Manufacturers' Association) and international standardization committees (IEC - International Electrotechnical Committee, CENELEC - European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) regarding product and electrical installation standards & regulations Supervision of product and electrical installations standards, covering for example miniature circuit breakers, semiconductor circuit breakers, air circuit breakers, moulded case circuit breakers, motor starters, low voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies, and UK & Ireland wiring regulations. In addition, provide timely communication of amendments to standards to the responsible groups within the Power Management & Control Components (PMCC) division Prepare regular reports on your activities in the standardization committees and coordinate your follow-up action with the relevant division departments Monitoring of relevant European Union directives such as the Low Voltage Directive and the EMC Directive; similarly, equivalent UK regulations and any divergence from EU directives. Work closely with engineering, testing, product management, product development, marketing, business development, sales organizations and even other Eaton divisions and units Proactively provide standardization expertise for the whole PMCC division and support on latest standards and regulations Prepare and hold information meetings and trainings regarding protection concepts and wiring regulation updates internally and externally Support market launch initiatives and write/edit technical documents and papers, considering the latest regulatory and standards requirements Collaboration in the development of new products with regard to the requirements from the corresponding standards Answering technical standard inquiries Qualifications Your essential skills we are looking for: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or related engineering discipline 3-5 years of experience in the electrical engineering sector (preferably electrical installations and/or power electronics), experience in standardization committee work on IEC, CENELC and national (BSI, BEAMA) level (e.g., IEC SC 23E, TC 64, SC 121A/B) is an asset Knowledge about Low-voltage switchgear and electrical installations, their functionality, applications and its protection principles; basic knowledge about semiconductors and applications as well as power engineering; comprehensive MS Office package knowledge Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong analytical and organizational skills, outgoing, proactive, curious to learn new things, team player, resilient to ambiguity, used to work remotely and effectively in cross-functional and international teams What we offer you: Permanent contract in a fast-growing global company Challenging projects in dynamic collaborative team Flexible working solutions (home office, remote, flexible working hours, part time etc.) are implemented across different EMEA locations, check out with the site HR what type of flexible working solution is available for this role.
