This role is a 12 month fixed term contract and can be offered on a part-time or full time basis, with the flexibility to be able to work from home. Rail Infrastructure's standards library is a comprehensive collection of over 10,000 engineering reference documents. The library is currently based on pdf. documents and is soon to be transitioned to a SharePoint platform. To maximise the opportunity this provides, there is a requirement to provide Metadata for each of the most important standards. About the role Working with the Standards Consultant, this will provide brief technical details (Metadata) for the key standards in the library. The Standards Consultant will prioritise the order in which the standards are addressed. Once the Metadata is written, the Standards Administrator will work with the Assistant Head of Engineering to facilitate the transition of standards to the new platform. What are my responsibilities? Provide a brief technical summary of each standard as requested by the Standards Consultant Provide a regular summary report to track progress Highlight standards which require further input or review What do I need to qualify for this role? General understanding of the purpose of standards and codes of practice (essential) Ability to skim read and summarise a document. Detailed knowledge of the contents is not required (essential) Good working skills with Microsoft Word and Excel (essential) Understanding of Sharepoint Previous experience of working with standards About us We’re Siemens.
