Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Steward is a position involving mainly routine tasks requiring little decision making and working under general supervision. It is a multi-function role that is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment and work areas in the kitchen to meet with health & sanity regulations and StarWorld Hotel standards. Responsible for the quality of their work and be adaptable to various functions such as kitchen hand, dishwasher and pot section attending.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
- Guest Service & Relations
- Maintain a high level of internal guest service and relations by delivering prompt, efficient and courteous service.Needs of internal guests are understood and prioritised, and a high customer awareness is maintained
- Policies & Procedures
- Act in accordance with Government Legislation and City of Dreams policies, including Food Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources and Food and Beverage Policies
- Financial Accountability
- This position does not require access to cash handling
- Technical Skills
- Full understanding of Standard Operating Procedures. Knowledge of food and beverage menu items. Effective preparation, handover and closedown of shifts.Maintain high visibility in allocated work areas and maintain back of house (BOH) areas such as preparation, cold larder, scullery, storage and rubbish
- Other skills include:
- Food stock preparation and storage
- Safe equipment use, handling, storage, cleaning and maintenance
- Clearing, washing and storing crockery, pots and glassware
- Ensuring correct handling, use and storage of chemicals
- Employee Development
- Interpersonal skills, technical skills and experience are being developed with a strong emphasis on teamwork
- Training
- Actively participates in all development training that will improve or enhance current skill level
- Gaming Floor Interaction
- Liaise with other departments such as Cleaning, Stores and Stewarding when required ensuring that all requests are met and any issues are resolved immediately
- Project Work
- Effectively manages project work delegated by outlet management
- Communication
- Effectively communicates relevant information onto other employees and managers. Maintains constant contact with operational areas to ensure adequate stock levels and cleanliness
