Starbucks Supervisor
Responsible for supervision of the Starbucks outlet, in accordance with hotel and Starbucks standards.  Directs, implements and maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff.

What you will be doing:

  • Maintain and keep up-to-date with all incoming emails from Corporate Starbucks about current/upcoming promotions and new products.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments.
  • Trains teams members of processes, procedures and product knowledge
  • Ensures proper cash management practices are followed by shift team.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of:
  • All food and beverage selections available.
  • All menu items.
  • Outlet layouts, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code.
  • POS and manual system procedures.
  • Daily house count, arrivals/departures, VIPs.
  • Scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times.
  • Correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  • All department policies/service procedures.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state regulations.
  • Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness.  Instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies.
  • Participate in inventory and ordering maintenance policies and practices.
  • Establish par levels for supplies and equipment.  Complete requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business.
  • Ensure that transfer slips and spill sheets are filled out and distributed in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Inspect outlet; check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement to departmental standards; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.
  • Periodically check with the Front Desk to review updates on house count and arrivals.
  • Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled.  Document any late or absent employees.
  • Assign work duties and coordinate breaks for staff.
  • Other tasks or projects as assigned.

Your experience and skills include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • 2-years’ experience as a Barista
  • Advanced Store Training Certified by District Manager
  • Certified Barista Trainer
  • Previous supervisory experience as asset
  • Food handling certificate required
  • Knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards and food sold in Starbucks.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Ability to compute basic arithmetic
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Available to work a flexible schedule (including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays), and long hours based on business levels
  • Computer-literate
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Proven ability to resolve guest concerns
  • Highly responsible, reliable & dependable
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Exert physical effort in carrying items (up to 40 pounds)
  • Frequent lifting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
  • Frequent bending and reaching
  • Reach 2 to 4 feet
  • Remain in stationary position for 4 to 6 hours throughout work shift

 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.
