The Statistical Programmer I role is primarily responsible for providing support to deliver technical programming and information components of assigned studies or drug projects. It will act to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of lower scope and complexity. This role works under the direction and support of an experienced programmer.

Typical Accountabilities:

• Under guidance, provides programming support to deliver technical programming and information components of lower complexity studies or drug projects such as simple datasets, tables or listings
• Understands the contents of protocols and clinical development plans to understand contribution of their work
• Works within established frameworks and ensures high quality is built into own deliverables
• Continues to acquire knowledge of drug development process
• Continues to increase knowledge of SAS
• Continues to increase knowledge of industry standards
• Takes steps to understand the roles and skills of others in clinical study teams
• Takes steps to understand the roles and skills of other functions in drug development
• Proactively keeps the lead programmer updated on progress of deliveries

Essential:

• Degree in Mathematical (i.e., Applied Math, Engineering, etc), Statistics, Computer Science, Life Science, or equivalent
• Basic programming skills ( SAS Base, Enterprise Guide, 4GL )

Desirable:

• Knowledge of industry standards
• Prior usage of a statistical/mathematical programming language
