In joining RWS’s Finance team you will be a critical part of supporting a listed world-leading provider of technology-enabled language, content, and intellectual property services. RWS has growing revenues of over £750m through a combination of value accretive acquisitions and organic growth. Group finance, led by our Group CFO; Candy Davies, includes diverse teams across the globe operating in functions including business partnering, operational finance, specialist, and group functions. We cover a footprint of over 100 legal entities in 43 different countries worldwide.

Job Purpose
 
The Statutory Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering groupwide statutory reporting to ensure the company’s compliance with reporting requirements. The role requires you to be highly resourceful with a continuous improvement mindset for processes and controls. You will paly a key role in ensuring the business fulfils its legal obligation and maintains strong financial standing.
 
You will report into and support the Regional Financial Controller to ensure all relevant control mechanisms are robustly embedded. You will also work closely with other Financial Controllers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of the Group’s statutory reporting.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
* Manage and perform statutory accounting/reporting activities 
* Manage the statutory reporting for the Group, including drafting of the statutory accounts and be a key contact for queries with the external auditors
* Prepare timetables and instructions to the Group to ensure filing deadlines are met
* Drive continuous improvements of statutory accounting/reporting processes
* Work with Regional Financial Controller to action and execute reporting strategy
* Ensure statutory accounting/reporting compliance
* Ensure up-to-date knowledge and adherence to all applicable statutory reporting requirements
* Ensure timely submission of all relevant reports to regulatory authorities such as tax returns, annual financial statements, and regulatory compliance reports
* Collaborate with Group Financial Controller to ensure any changes to accounting standards are implemented accurately across the business
 
Skills & Experience
 
* 8+ years’ experience in a financial management or professional services environment
* Qualified accountant (AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA or global equivalent)
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business-related discipline
* Strong English Language skills
* Experience working for or with multinational FTSE / listed companies demonstrating strong technical skills, knowledge of foreign exchange calculations and risks and experience of acquisition accounting requirements
* Previous experience with global, multi-currency consolidations in line with IFRS; experience of delivering group monthly, quarterly, and annual management and statutory financial reporting and an external audit process
* Strong technical proficiency in IFRS
* Excellent communication skills with strong ability to interact with company stakeholders to ensure a high quality of service, while balancing expectations and realisations
* Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels demonstrating commercial awareness and common sense
* Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with a proactive approach, accustomed to working towards tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality of work
* Experience with different finance systems, particularly Hyperion / HFM
