Storeroom Supervisor

Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, the storeroom supervisor is responsible for carrying out all the aspects of the day-to-day operations of the purchasing storeroom.

What you will be doing:
- Responsible for the Purchasing Department in the absence of the Director of Purchasing
- Create and update current requisitions for all outlets and departments
- Input and adjust issues and receipts, both on-going and at month-end
- Place contracted orders (ie: phone, fax, internet)
- Maintaining perpetual inventory where applicable, “just in time ordering”, “min/max ordering”, and monthly and yearly inventory close-outs
- Work with individual department heads maintaining par stocks at adequate level and monitory and adjusting slow moving items
- Create and maintain on-going training and cross-training programs (ie: receiving, stores, specs)
- Follow-up on deliveries, orders, requests
- Ensure that the products are received according to hotel standard and that any double shipments or shipments received in error are returned
- Work closely with Department heads to insure their needs are met through this office and assist with the purchasing procedures to insure requirements are met in a timely manner
- Maintain/prepare files in Birchstreet (purchasing system)
- Routing, filing and follow-up of purchase requisitions
- Inform any/all departments of any price/product changes
- Maintain good working relationships with suppliers
- Work closely with Accounts Payable Department and Receiving in regards to product coming in and discrepancies in billing, plus ensure that product is assigned to correct accounts and that accruals are completed at the end of the month
- Assist with end-of-month inventories
- Able to work independently of supervision
Your experience and skills include:
- University/College Degree or High School Diploma is an asset
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- 1-2 years experience in Purchasing
- Familiar with food & beverage items
- Knowledge of computerized property management systems preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
