12-Month Contract - NSW North and WA Territory

The Role
Due to an internal secondment, we are looking for a new Strategic Account Manager to develop and manage strategic alliances in select accounts to maximise the long-term profitability of Amgen brands. In this 12-month contract role, maintain optimal access and engagement with relevant Key Account Executives, proactively providing strategic solutions by delivering a compelling customer value proposition and utilising systematic and coordinated processes.
You will be joining an established, experienced and innovative account management team with a clear track record of customer value creation and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities across the following areas include:
Strategic Account Management:
- Achieve strategic objectives and sales expectations by developing and driving optimal commercial recommendations. Utilise Cluster Team Management (CTM) cross functional processes to develop and deliver strategic account plans and tactics.
- Update, implement and track account plans for all nominated accounts.
- Utilise agreed supporting tools, processes and guidance: brand strategy, account segmentation, approved pricing policy, price modelling analysis, value-based contracting principles, tendering excellence process, cluster team management process, etc. to achieve strategic objectives.
- Develop and foster relationships with pharmacy, purchasing organizations and other nominated stakeholders in designated strategic accounts. Focus on public and private hospitals/groups, compounding services, pharmacy service providers, private insurance and others as required.
- Investigate selected accounts for long term partnership opportunities, coordinate strategic objectives and tactical plans to capitalise on development of alliances.
Brand Team Participation:
- Facilitate Access Leadership as a member of selected brand teams, participating fully in all brand team activities, focusing broadly on all aspects of brand success.
- Provide account, market and competitor intelligence to inform brand strategy, account segmentation, commercial operating plan and direct operating expense decisions for the brand.
Tenders & Contracts:
- Own and facilitate responses to State/Territory and individual account Requests for Tender (RFT) in conjunction with the Pricing and Contracts Associate.
- Develop comprehensive scenario/option models, based on clear rationale, that support sound recommendations for commercial engagement.
- Utilise and engage cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely creation of approved commercial recommendations in line with local governance procedures and regional price exception handling requirements.
- Monitor progress of all contractual obligations and conduct regular review discussions with account personnel to maximize commercial outcomes.
Biosimilar Products:
- Utilise market/account intelligence on account behaviour to drive bio-similar product uptake.
- Contribute to bio-similar brand planning and corporate strategy/initiatives to drive launch success.
General:
- Assist launch brands with Access requirements such as formulary or protocol approvals, and PFP approvals
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge
- Tertiary qualification in life sciences or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of senior sales responsibility (Senior Sales Representative / Sales Management experience) and/or Key Account Management, and/or Marketing experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry is essential
- Strategic Account Manager or business development experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry in Australia is essential.
- Understanding of the Healthcare and reimbursement system (specifically the state and hospital environment)
- Pharmaco-economic modelling and the cost/benefit impact on business results
- Strong computer literacy - Microsoft office applications, esp. Excel and PowerPoint
- Work Rights and Residency in Australia Mandatory
