Strategic Account Senior Sales Engineer

Job Description

Primary responsibility is to manage the assigned Key Accounts base to increase sales in the Central America and Caribbean market and provide sales and technical assistance to selected customers. Develop and implement a sales plan to achieve the above-mentioned goals. Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities and communicate such information to product engineers. Maintain a teaming, cooperative and credible working relationship with other company personnel to assure customer satisfaction. Manage expense allowances and submit expense reports in a timely manner. Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines and use sound business judgment to enhance margins. Support total quality effort by providing timely and accurate information for order entry, elevating quality issues to attention of management, ensure that accurate information flows to and from customers, implement new product programs as needed, collect analyze and utilize market intelligence data on competitive products, customer needs, preferences and buying habits. Provide necessary reports and surveys requested by the management in a timely manner.

Essential functions: 

Build and manage strong relationships with Strategic costumers within the region.

Directs the assigned selling resources at designated strategic costumers.

Directs the development and execution of the region sales plans to achieve goals for sales volume, mix, growth and other specified objectives.

Works closely with regional marketing support and marketing product engineers to ensure strategies are developed to growth key market segments.

Identify medium and large-scale projects throughout the country to improve market share and create installed based of Eaton products among strategic customers.

Directs the development and execution of the country sales plans to achieve goals for sales volume, mix, growth and other specified objectives.

Support company strategy to grow the business into the assigned key accounts and leverage internal resources within Eaton to pursue and capture qualified opportunities.

Inform management regarding customers need, requirements and expectations as well as relevant market information.

Understanding the products and their competitive position in the area and communicate the customer's satisfaction and/or needs.

Execute approved plans for target customers for product introductions, service solution campaigns, and sales promotions.

Grow the brand image and market acceptance of EATON into the assigned key and target costumers.

Possessing a good understanding of selling techniques and Eaton's capabilities and technical applications of EE products.

Electro-technical and commercial background; technical knowledge with great commercial affinity.

Selling value proposition to costumers through professional engineering value for strategic projects.

Prepare and update weekly and monthly sales and booking forecast as well as keep updated the project status database not less than monthly basis.

Assure that Eaton Code of Ethics applies to all customers and other stakeholders. Represent the Company in technical / commercial and trade fair events and conventions related with Industrial segment.

Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines and use sound business judgment to enhance margins.

Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of EEG’s products and services.
  • Detailed knowledge of EEG’s systems and processes to effectively leverage resources to “get things done” for customers.
  • Proven ability to develop trust and build long term business relationships with customers and internal to Eaton.
  • Degree in engineering and/or five years of experience in similar commercial positions.
  • Broad knowledge of Eaton’s Global capabilities in order to leverage competencies and resources between organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cultural diversity with customers in different locations
  • Possess excellent communications skills in both verbal and written to communicate effectively with Company and Customer. Skills required and bilingual Spanish and advanced knowledge of English language
  • Specific skill requirements include, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and MS Project, AutoCAD, Outlook, and Vista.
  • Desired skills with Bid Manager.
  • Electrical strategic segments business knowledge into the regional market.
