Job Description
As the strategic cost manager, you will closely work with Global Commodity Managers and Procurement managements to analyze direct component Should Cost, identify the major cost driver & improvement opportunities and support information for price negotiation with the supplier. You will also be counterpart to corporate Finance and the owner of procurement cost management report which is the a collaborative work of procurement performance. Your work to provide accurate report and cost analysis insight is essential to drive WD business successful.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build up Cleansheet (Should Cost model) for different commodities covering several mechanical components which produced from turning, casting, plastic injection and assembly process
- Assess and validate Cleansheet input prepared by suppliers and Commodity Managers
- Manage coverage/adherence ratio of Should Cost result
- Provide insight information of supplier & component cost to support commodity manager in negotiation based on Should Cost Study
- Responsible for monthly Flash business cost report
- Be counterpart to corporate finance when there a query on Flash business procurement cost report
- Support the team on any other cost related report & presentation
- Work with commodity managers to manage cost management report to drive strategic quarterly cost saving target
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in related field e.g. Economics, Engineering, Sciences or Business Administration. MBA is a plus
- Used to work in manufacturing environment or thorough understanding of high-volume manufacturing context
- 3-7 years of working experience with some exposure on routinely dealing with massive dataset
- Familiar with bottom up and top down study of manufacturing cost
- Experience in data management or big data is advantage but not necessary
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, with working knowledge of cost analysis
- Systematic, Innovative and result oriented
- Enjoy working with number and massive data and thrive on business process improvement
- Fluent English is a must
