Job Summary

The role is the single point of accountability for and driving strategic priorities within regional medical affairs.

Purpose

  • Partners with the regional medical head to implement regional strategies, goals and initiatives, lead regional operations, budget oversight, resource management and planning
  • Be part of the JAPAC medical leadership team and drive team achievement through individual performance  

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Support the Regional Medical Head in strategy development, execution of organizational plans and proactive preparation of deliverables
  • Act as an advisor to the Regional Medical Head on key activities and issues within the Region
  • Drive Functional/Management Incentive Plan (MIP) goal setting and initiatives, and track & report progress
  • Support development and execution of Regional Medical Head communication plan
  • Drive internal and external presentation development, including Operating/Business Reviews, All-Staff presentations, & reports on business performance
  • Work with Regional Medical Head to organize Leadership Team and regional meetings to achieve strategic objectives
  • Manage functional/cross-functional review committees as required
  • Partner with Global Medical Operations to represent regional needs and support process roll-out
  • Manage talent development, staff engagement, support staff development, establish recognition programs; identify and implement platforms for learning and best practice sharing

Basic Qualifications

  • PharmD, M Phm, MD, or PhD/MSc in a biological science
  • 8+ years Medical affairs experience with special emphasis on evidence generation, external partnership and strategic planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree (PharmD, PhD) 
  • 8+ years’ experience including direct involvement in data/evidence generation, external partnerships and driving organizational change
  • At least 5 years’ experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical and or/healthcare environment
  • Experience working with other functions within Medical Affairs
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • This role requires an experienced change agent, people manager and medical affairs leader who is used to working in a fast-paced environment
