Job Description
Siemens Large Drives US we are searching for a Strategic Procurement Specialist for Electric Motor Factory in Norwood. This role will be leading Strategic Procurement activities for assigned category driving the lowest TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for components used to build our motors. This includes in developing a short-and long-term strategy aligned with Siemens LDA goals relative to growth, cost savings, supply continuity, and risk management. Developing, organizing, controlling, monitoring, and introducing procurement strategies to ensure maximum contribution to the operating result and optimizing utilization of resources. Active participation in global networking as well as collaboration with other affiliate companies by way of pooling of demands and getting in line with global strategies. This key role will report directly to our Strategic Procurement Head for Siemens Large Drives Norwood. What are my responsibilities? Defining procurement strategies to ensure long-term, cost-effective supply of materials while driving product innovations into the purchasing portfolio. Lead effective Supplier Relationship Management strategies to deliver best in class business performance. (selection/qualification, evaluation, auditing, development) Planning, implementing, and controlling contract and price negotiations to supply to the profitability of the company. Prioritize and implement regional and cross-regional bundling of the demands of the diverse groups/sites and projects for optimum utilization of procurement power. Implementing alternative procurement sources to minimize lead times, inventory levels, risk, and costs. Analyzing scope of supply and customer contract agreements, carrying out risk analyses and introducing recommendations to mitigate LD’s with customers. Detailed escalation of vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery. Analyzing sales and operations planning, assessing the best cost supply chain to ensure early procurement involvement/execution. Define share for respective suppliers and maintaining SAP info records and source lists to ensure buyers are implementing strategy. Collaborating with Siemens Norwood partners to align strategies for NPD, Cost/Value Engineering, Quality Management, as well as Siemens Global Procurement. Lead and drive cross-functional projects to source, qualify and ramp up new suppliers Perform procurement reporting and forecasting along with analysis to identify potential improvement opportunities. What do I need to qualify for this job? Validated experience in various procurement functions, preferably in a manufacturing environment Background in Continuous Improvement Proven performance in Developing/Implementing successful sourcing strategies using TCO model Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Management preferred Proficiency in MS Office Applications, Preferred Knowledge of SAP Knowledge of contract law, Technical knowledge in electronics/motor manufacturing preferred Organizational change, customer focused, good communication and negotiation skills are required.
