Role Purpose:

This position will be responsible for the Strategic Sourcing of Indirect Materials and Services for a Corning manufacturing site in Poland. Personal and Business Objectives include identifying and driving Cost Reduction opportunities through adoption of Best Practices. This position reports to the OFC EMEA Regional Supply Manager.

Requirements:

• Academic degree in Engineering, Technology, Supply Chain or Business Administration
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sourcing of Indirect materials and services
• Good command of English language and SAP R/3, MS Office software
• Attention to details
• Understanding of Supplier Cost Structures
• Understanding the importance and value of open communication and sharing of information
• Understanding the importance of clear requirements

Responsibilities:

• Actively leading the sourcing process (from the RfX to awarding the order)
• Negotiating business terms with incumbent and new suppliers
• Maintaining effective supplier relationships
• Identifying new or alternative sources.
• Developing Risk Mitigation plans where necessary
• Participating in the RTP process to ensure that payments are made in accordance with the agreed deadlines
• Placing and follow-up of purchase orders
• Travel Domestic and International: 5-10%
