• Source and develop Asian suppliers in specialty chemicals.

• Source and develop new principals in Asia for specialty chemicals, looking for long term and exclusive relationships in all Latin America

• Work on supplier approval process to ensure supplier quality, reliability and competitiveness.

• Proactively determine with overseas affiliates’ requirements for existing and new products, including technical specifications, sample approvals, price, terms and long-term contract negotiations.

• Develop procurement strategy consistent with company’s direction.

• Negotiate with suppliers for best price and terms, achieving lowest TCO for the company.

• Process orders and monitor deliveries.

• Resolve quality and delivery issues as needed.

• Attend regular teleconference with overseas co-workers.

• Business travel up to 50%
  

Requirements:

University Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

Experience in Specialty Chemicals (Technical/Purchasing) – 8 years or more, in applications such as coatings and paints, plastics & rubber, construction chemicals, personal care, or others.

Experience in Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation

Able to develop new products and supply markets

Good negotiation skills and business acumen

Good human interaction skills and persuasion skills

Problem solving skills

Able to work flexible hours

English language – excellent in written and oral

Technical knowledge in Chemistry

Spanish speaking is an advantage but not compulsory
