The Director, Measurement Planning & Reporting is an enterprise leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and deep experience and expertise in development and measurement of digital programs.  As part of the Global Commercial Digital & Innovation (GCDI) ambition to create and deliver engaging digital experiences for our customers, this role will be integral in leading our customer experience transformation by embedding a measurement planning discipline (Objectives & Key Results), data modeling for effective reporting and development of best practices for reviewing and analyzing digital KPIs for insight into campaign performance.  They will be accountable for building and embedding an integrated omnichannel and customer experience measurement capability (reporting, insight and analytics) to inform optimization efforts and provide actionable insight to campaign owners and business leaders.   

The Director, Measurement Planning & Reporting is accountable for creation of an omnichannel/digital measurement planning & reporting vision along with roadmap to drive measurement planning discipline, data models, tagging standards and reporting frameworks/ approaches for our most strategic programs.  Provides product leadership for measurement solutions (e.g., dashboards and landing pages), develop product vision and design, translate business needs into particular use cases and features and prioritize based on the value.  Responsible for identification of stakeholders, partners and users who will be engaged to deliver measurement solutions and to seek to understand needs and pain-points to refine offering and value proposition to drive product usability.  Leads team of Measurement & Analytics Leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to facilitate across Brand teams and colleagues from Global Insight & Analytics teams (BBU & OBU), Global Commercial IT. 

The Director, Digital Measurement & Analytics will be responsible for refining frameworks for digital measurement planning and reporting and leadership of internal and external resources end-to-end to ensure successful outcomes.   Responsible for leading the tagging strategy by setting short and long term visions, articulating industry best practices and translating the vision into roadmaps and gaining buy-in across the organization.  Responsible for driving report development and delivery based on expectations of quality and timing as part of Global E2E LT with colleagues from Global Commercial IT and Global Commercial Operations.  They will drive performance expectations of operational resources and ensure that appropriate service offerings, capabilities, and partners are in place to support measurement & omnichannel reporting  infrastructure (OBU & BBU).   

Major Responsibilities:

  • Institutionalize the Objectives & Key Results (OKR) goal setting framework for all GCDI strategic programs and embed discipline within commercial teams
  • Design and lead implementation of measurement frameworks, reporting visualizations and strategies to help brand teams prove success across web, search, digital advertising and CRM analytics data
  • Review and adjust digital benchmarks, industry & minimum standards across all markets and digital efforts
  • Work with Leaders across GCDI to lead development of digital measurement & reporting frameworks for emerging omnichannel programs
  • Provide consult and provide leadership to strategic programmes (e.g., THD) and continue to champion OKR methodology for measurement planning across enterprise
  • Institutionalize facilitation of OKR development with business-facing GCDI roles (OC Strategists, DPOs and DPDs) as well as business leaders to ensure OKR discipline carried through all omni programmes
  • Lead development of Marketer Success programme(s) to support Marketers interpreting and leveraging dashboards and digital reporting (with team)
  • Act as Business Owner for US OKR Landing Pages (BBU and OBU) and oversee transition to BAU operations with GCO and monitor quality/timely delivery
  • Drive best practices for tagging standards and processes for tagging of digital assets
  • Identify opportunities and develop solutions to automate, streamline and innovate existing processes and delivery channels as it relates to digital measurement, reporting and insight generation
  • Represent findings and recommendations to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with IT to ensure appropriate data infrastructure and data integrity
  • Responsible for managing team operations including assignments, staffing, development, performance, training, etc.
  • Maintain an external focus to stay abreast of current technology channel trends and emerging opportunities to ensure that AZ is continually innovating and maintaining a true competitive edge
  • Ensure adherence to all AstraZeneca and Commercial Operations standards and policies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree with a combination of 5+ years of experience in commercial insight and analytics, data modeling, pharmaceutical marketing and/or healthcare-related fields, digital marketing, technology capability, and/or information services
  • Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert (SME) related to Objectives and Key Results (OKR) measurement planning framework including maintaining central data dictionary and conducting cross-OKR reviews
  • Experience with managing and developing a team of direct reports and able to manage performance of teams beyond direct reporting responsible for end-to-end delivery  
  • Hands-on experience engaging with internal leadership on digital measurement tied to brand goals, KPIs and ROI
  • Proven track record of developing and articulating a strategy as well as defining success for executing marketing programs: pharmaceutical marketing/advertising/measurement experience
  • Familiarity with relevant data/analytics concepts/technologies to better interface and drive tech development
  • Leadership experience with design and engineering teams and familiarity with agile methodologies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and business intelligence data visualization tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau or Power BI
  • Able to function independently, strong decision-making skills, set and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
  • Strong analytical, planning, organization skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to conduct meetings and facilitate stakeholder alignment
  • Experience with IQVIA or Crossix
  • Experience developing or adhering to marketing operations standards

Preferred Background

  • 8+ years’ experience in digital marketing, web, or customer analytics across channels
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics or other attribution solutions
  • Familiarity with digital media tagging / tag management solutions
  • Familiarity with APIs, Data Feeds & data transfer between platforms & data warehouses
  • Ability to collaborate with IT on data platform innovation, standards, integrations, data transfer and identity resolution across digital efforts to mitigate spend waste, increase advertising effectiveness and enable best-in-class reporting
  • Thorough understanding of emerging customer experience go-to-market models
  • Proven track record of leading through change
