Role Purpose:

This position will be responsible for the Strategic Sourcing of Capital Equipment, Parts, Services and Construction for a Corning manufacturing site in Poland. Personal and Business Objectives include identifying and driving Capital Cost Reduction and Capital Project Performance efficiency through adoption of Capital Project Management Best Practices. This position reports to the OFC EMEA Regional Supply Manager.

Requirements:

• Academic Degree in Engineering, Technology, Supply Chain or Business Administration
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing
• Good command of English language and SAP R/3, MS Office software
• Attention to details
• Desire to increase scope of responsibilities beyond Capital sourcing
• Understands the importance and value of open communication and sharing of information.
• Possesses the ability to encourage and facilitate cooperation among the various people and activities associated with Capital Projects
• Understanding of Supplier Cost Structures. Thorough understanding of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model including cost of acquisition, use/administration, maintenance, transaction processing, and disposal of a given item or service
• Understands the importance and value of ensuring well-developed statements of work
• Experience in risk identification and risk management plan development

Responsibilities:

• Represents Procurement in cross-functional and cross-cultural Project teams with focus on Capital equipment.
• Actively leads the sourcing process (from RfX to awarding the order)
• Maintains effective supplier relationships
• Identifies new or alternative sources. Develops Risk Mitigation plans where necessary.
• Travel Domestic and International: 5-10%
