The Siemens Digital Industries Software portfolio enables customers to build a comprehensive digital twin, which blurs the boundaries between virtual and physical, hardware and software, as well as design and manufacturing worlds. This position is for Siemens Mentor IC (formerly known as Mentor) the leading provider of electronic design automation software that allows customers to develop most cost-effective electronics systems, components and products. The Siemens Mentor IC product portfolio includes an array of world-class solutions that enable faster time-to-market and increased flexibility for semiconductor companies to realize innovation with first silicon success targeted for Cloud, mobile, HPC and mission critical applications. We seek a passionate individual with a strong background in electrical engineering or computer science. Come and gain practical hands-on experience with high quality EDA products while setting yourself up with knowledge for a potential full-time role after graduation. You will gain the ability to work within a fast moving, startup environment in a large company. This internship can be a steppingstone into an R&D engineer position. A R&D engineer is the key driver of technical innovation for their product area. Their goal is to conceptualize, implement, and validate truly novel solutions to cutting edge EDA problems, which maximize the product’s net present value by maximizing the value delivered to well-defined market segments. Doing so requires developing and executing out-of-the-box solutions with meticulous detail. This position is a support role for R&D staff where the intern will interact with R&D, product engineering, and other internal cross-functional stakeholders while gaining some client exposure. This position is for products dedicated to formal verification and equivalence checking of EDA designs, and integration in custom design flows. A successful R&D intern brings technical expertise as well as the passion to solve deep technical problems. They have the curiosity to grasp the essence of the problem, the drive to solve them in the most efficient and effective manner, and the motivation to showcase the value of the product to the world. This position requires excellent technical, collaboration and communication skills. If you want to ultimately become a R&D engineer, the ability to engage with your colleagues and stakeholders to figure out the optimal path forward is key. We are looking for R&D aspirants who can scale in perspective from strategic vision development with direct interaction with the senior R&D team, to tactical product development ultimately aligning with business objectives. This position is for the Calypto Systems Division business unit of Siemens Mentor IC. In this role you will proactively: · Support R&D engineering staff in various activities Develop, implement and validate novel solutions to add enhancements to, or fix bugs in, an existing formal verification tool. Envision and prototype exploratory ideas which can lead to a quantum jump in the capabilities of the verification tool. Perform rigorous and reproducible experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of your work. Present and discuss your work to colleagues periodically for awareness and feedback. Organization Requirements: Currently enrolled in a graduate degree at an accredited university with a background in electrical engineering or computer engineering Understanding of integrated circuits and their verification methodologies is a strong plus Understanding of EDA technologies is a strong plus Understanding of product development cycles and software development schedules Strong verbal and written communications skills with high attention to detail Experience in collecting requirements, writing specifications, coding, and experimentation.
