Job Responsibilities:
– Construction and input to responses for client positioning strategy, branding, brand messaging and competitive differentiation in the China market
– Supports the development of new business proactively through external meetings, leveraging existing business and personal networks where possible
– Manages internal strategy briefs and branding direction for new business opportunities and campaigns across internal teams where required (Creative, Social, Research etc)
– Responsible for line managing the Strategy team including attendance, leave requests, expenses etc
– Performance management of the Strategy teams providing active feedback to the team on performance against agreed performance KPI’s
– Weekly reporting on status of strategy teamwork in progress, issues, risks and opportunities to the General Manager, New Business
– Provides support across the Client Services and Digital Ventures teams providing strategic guidance and insights on latest market trends in China
– Ensures client responses are of a high quality and manages the internal review process for new client opportunities and business
Job Requirements:
– Well-developed English and Mandarin language skills (reading/writing and oral/aural)
– Deep knowledge of trends and strategies for international brands in the China market
– Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Business with a marketing major or its equivalent.
– Practitioner in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and excellent skills in Power Point
– A people manager who can get the best results from individuals directly managed
– Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
– Self-motivated individual with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
– A detail-oriented go-getter with excellent desktop research, analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to deliver business insights
– Strong analytical thinker who has a genuine interest in digital marketing, social media and the latest digital trends in the China market
– Think outside the box - devise different ways to evaluate the latest trends, competitive landscape and being able to present your findings
– Minimum 5 years experience managing teams of 3 people and above
– Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience working in marketing and communications strategy, business strategy or pre-sales roles in the China market
– Track record of creating excellent brand strategy and campaign strategy work aimed at leveraging the Chinese Digital eco-system
– Extensive presentation experience to Marketing Director and C level executives or equivalent
