Structural Design Engineer, Gigafactory

The Role:

The Gigafactory Design Team is looking for a sharp, and collaborative engineer to join their Structural Engineering Team. The job is assigned to perform either in house CS design or coordinate & supervising vehicle manufacture line design.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Promote and protect Tesla’s reputation as a cutting-edge company producing the world’s most exciting cars, and ushering the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

• 
  Manager and perform various aspects of Civil/Structure design, including drawings and structural calculation of Civil structure and building, design and calculation for equipment foundation, steel structure, etc.

• 
  Perform site preparation, soil geotechnical survey, and pilling & other construction package review.

• 
  Review and feedback CSA basic and detail design drawings and SPC completed by LDI or Vendors.

• 
  Cost estimate and procurement technical Support.

• 
  Conduct Architecture, HVAC, Water and supply and drainage, Fire-fighting, Plot plan design condition development and drawings squad check.

• 
  Participate as a team member, contributing ideas and possible solutions, and leading on issues where appropriate.

Qualifications:

• 
  Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and/or evidence of exceptional experience. .

• 
  Minimum 6 years of hands-on design experience building high-tech infrastructure, industrial, or operational facilities (semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.). Experience with a campus of buildings preferred.

• 
  Job is expected to well understand vehicle secondary structure design.

• 
  Job is expected to well understand Fire Fighting Emergency Pond, Chiller & Deluge House, Cooling Tower Frame, MCC, Warehouse, Pipearck design.

• 
  Working knowledge of Chinese building codes and structural design standards.

• 
  Produce design drawings, specifications, reports, and other project deliverables.

• 
  Proficient in the use of Structural Analysis software

• 
  Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD,PKPM series & other structure calculation software.

• 
  Ability to manage, guide, and review structural consultant designs.

• 
  Ability to interface with multiple engineering disciplines in a design team environment.

• 
  Broad knowledge of the multi-disciplinary process of building design and delivery, with an understanding of the structural deliverables and coordination required with other disciplines.

  Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

  Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
