Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Completes all required quality and customer information on reports and documents. Responsible for the cleaning and packing operations required for sub-assembly processing. Utilizes hand tools in building sub-assembly. Employs measurement instrumentation such micrometers, indicators, calipers, depth gages, etc. to check/verify dimensional assembly requirements as needed Subassembly operations such as installation of screws and miscellaneous components, lock wire, etc. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in all working areas maintaining that area to the highest degree of cleanliness required for assembly operations. Ability to read and complete inspection ledger, inspection check sheet, operation sheet, move ticket and discrepancy report (DR) and other paperwork as necessary to comply with Quality Systems. Responsible for notifying supervisors when work received does not meet the specifications required by previous operators including paperwork requirements as observable. Performs operator defined 5S/TPM tasks as required. These include, but are not limited to, checking oil levels, coolant concentration, machine gauge pressure, etc. Responsible for returning all tools to their proper location at the end of the shift and cleaning work area. Proper use of all tools and gages necessary to complete and to verify that all work performed has been completed to specifications as required. Performs minor sanding, lapping (including table lap), deburr, or repair work as required in the course of performing the primary duties of the classification. Compliance to Manufacturing Self-Release Process (MSRP) and responsible for the quality of the product going to next operation. Maintain lubricating oils and cutting fluids to proper levels in machine. Responsible for safety for self and for other employees in the area. Other duties as required or assigned within the job classification ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Team player attitude demonstrated in boss and peer relationships in a diverse environment Strong work ethic demonstrated through action orientation and a drive to achieve results Flexibility, ability to multitask, and proficiency in shifting priorities Proficient writing skills and ability to comprehend detailed written instructions High degree of manual dexterity required for complex assembly Good mechanical aptitude and excellent problem solving skills Ability to read blue prints and operate precision measuring equipment Strong math skills Prior experience using computers Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Certification in Hydraulic Mechanics or related field from an accredited college or vocational school Prior work experience with hydraulic systems in an aviation or military setting Understanding of and ability to manipulate complex mechanical systems Prior work experience reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints ADDITIONAL INFORMATION High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of three (3) years prior work experience in an industrial and/or military environment performing assembling, testing, machining, or mechanical work required.
