Intel is seeking an experienced Supercomputing Platform Architect to contribute to the development of next-generation System and Platform architectures for HPC and AI applications. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of pathfinding system and platform architects tackling innovative architectures and technologies in pursuit of zettascale computing. This project is very aspirational - a grand challenge that is unifying research agencies, academia, and industry in pursuit of converging HPC, data analytics, and AI.
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to the following:
Defining the architecture specifications of the next-generation supercomputing platforms* Influencing the shaping of future Intel products by significantly contributing to the architecture used across multiple design families
Providing multilayered technical expertise and innovative ideas for the next generation systems and platforms supporting supercomputing applications
Understanding features from existing documentation and discussions with technical leaders across all aspects of system hardware and software
Solid understanding of power and thermo-mechanical technologies at the board level
Partnering with engineering and validation teams to enable developing and delivering these platforms

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Hardware and Software development, or any other directly related discipline and 9+ years of experience, in one or more of the following:
System and platform level architecture, management, telemetry, and test methodologies
Development of system and platform hardware innovations and specifications supporting new systems and platforms
Successful development of large, complex board reference designs used in productized platforms
Define requirements with customer engineering and product design
Open compute Program (OCP) specifications and requirements
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
PhD in Computer Science / Engineering, Hardware and Software Development or any other directly related discipline and 5+ years of experience
Master's in Computer Science / Engineering, Hardware and Software Development or any other directly related discipline and 7+ years of experience
Architectural knowledge of supercomputing system architectures
System memory standards and protocols, DDR4/5, LPDDR4/5, HBM2/3
Networking concepts like Ethernet and high-end fabrics (InfiniBand, Slingshot, BXI)

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
