Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the operational efficiency of Front Desk areas during shift and the service delivery of those areas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

Has full awareness, manages and supervises all tasks of his/her team members.

Takes full responsibilites of the Assistant Manager, Front Desk in his/her absence.

Greets and ensures that all guests are assisted at all times in friendly and helpful manner and attempts to learn and use guests' name at every opportunity.

Registers and rooms all arrivals according to established procedures optimally.

Performs check in, check out and room change procedures and ensures all data are entered completely into the Hotel systems.

Maintains cashier float and ensures accurate daily report of all money received.

Cashes Hotel guests's travelers checks and assists with currecny exchange.

Keeps abreast of all modification to accounting policies and procedures.

Is responsible in attending guests's request of using the service of the safety deposit box at all times.

Is knowledgable of all special promotion procedures.

Attends to guest's complaints, inquiries and requests, and refers problem to his/her superior if he/she is unable to assist.

Does everything possible to ensure that the guests depart the Hotel with a positive impression of the Hotel services.

Performs the audit balances and prepares all works for audit in an orderly fashion.

Maintains comprehensive knowledge of standard reservertion procedures including correct forms to use, how to read fax, email, messages, and how to interpret availability sources within the Reservations system.

Maintains exemplary departmental standards of behavior and appearance and attitude at all times.

Takes personal interest and pride to ensure that the Front Desk work areas are kept clean and in orderly state at all times.

Comply with credit policy of the Hotel.

Has full knowledge of Galaxy Hotel standards, conducts shift briefings to ensure Hotel activities and operational requirements are known.

Ensures guest receives prompt attention and request will be fulfilled immediately.

Ensures that all Front Desk equirement are accounted for and are always in good condition.

Ensures guest satisfaction during his/her shift and monitors his/her team members with the same awareness.

Supervises Front Desk operations during assigned shift including:
Maintenance of guest information
Maintenance of information about local events
Compilations of occupancy statistics
Supervision of group bookings
Assistance with complaints

Supervises cashiering activities during assigned shift including:
Cash handling and banking procedures
Dealing with irregular payments
Instructing team members of credit policies and facilities
Carry out debtor control
Monitor negative posting
Preparation of cashier reports
Supervision of the whole cashiering system
Accuracy of the Foreign Exchange Notice

Assumes other duties assigned by Management as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of Hotel facilities and services

Education, Training Qualifications: Certificate holder in Hospitality Management or related disciplines.

Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant experience of Front Desk in the Hotel industry.

Personality: Initiative, organized and detail-oriented; excellent communication and interpersonal skills and supervisory skills.

Languages: Good command of both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua.

Age: 20 to 30 years old.

Physical Requirements: Male, at least 5 8" in height/ Female, at least 5 4" in height.

Other Requirements: Knowledge of another foreign language other than the ones mentioned above is an advantage.
