Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lead, facilitate and coordinate production activities and resources according to established practices and or policies within their job area to ensure the timely delivery of quality parts that meet or exceed customer expectations in a safe work environment. Establish and maintain a positive employee relation environment through adherence to Eaton´s values, ethics and Philosophy. Clearly communicates expectations and consistently holds self and employees accountable for performance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Implement, promote and maintain a safe working environment, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and rule enforcement. Participate and encourage the participation of his direct reports in safety coaching and feedback through BBS. Provide EHS training (100% completion). Complete assigned EHS inspections. Respond to department EHS concerns. Enforce the rules. Include Safety topics in department meetings. See attachment for more details Execute the Production Plan on time by coordinating properly the necessary resources in order to resolve manufacturing problems in a promptly way and improve processes that lead to meet external and internal customer demands. Drive the company’s vision and mission by reinforcing ethics, values and quality policies through their area of responsibility. Align workforce to the company vision through Eaton Philosophy workplace practices and belief that build trust, mutual respect and teamwork between employees at all levels of the organization. Act as a business partner by planning, initiating, leading, measuring, monitoring and assessing continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate Eaton Business Systems (EBS) processes and problem solving tools such as ELS (Eaton Lean System) and 5s. Maintain and report accurate inventory numbers while continually seeking ways to reduce work in progress (WIP) inventory levels and maximizing product flow while identifying and implementing cost out opportunities. Participate in setting, communicating and achieving department goals and objectives and develop and maintain performance metrics as required to monitor results and use those results as a tool to identify and initiate process improvements within own work area. Coordinate and/or participate in continuous improvement teams in own or other areas to enhance plant results. Engage and motivate workforce and promote personal accountability by identifying goals, empowering employees to drive decision making, foster innovation and continuously learn and provide ongoing feedback on employee performance aligned with the formal APEX Manufacturing Process at least once a year. Participate with Human Resources in the selection, promotion, counseling and termination of employees using Eaton guidelines and policies. Act as an agent of the company by communicating the policies, practices, changes and decisions of management while fairly and consistently applying policies and practices to all employees Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of engagement, satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results. Take the annual employees survey results and or mini-surveys (with higher frequency) results as triggers to implement action plans in order to improve the level of satisfaction of the employees on the lower performance dimensions as needed. Perform his/her activities in alignment to Eaton Quality and deploy to his/her direct reports a strong quality culture which aligns with our company’s VISION in order to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. Follow to capture SPC data and trend of SPC data capabilities. Apply reaction plan for Non-conformances detected in SPC data where applicable. Demonstrate the application of the 8 CIF modules and support related initiatives on daily basis through establishing, maintaining and complying his/her Standard Work and other tools. Participate in Kaizen events, Lean Council and Continuous Improvement teams when required. Generate ideas for improvement according with the local programs. Implement and optimize Lean Management tools. Sustain the ELLS tools (VSM, 5´s, TPM, STW, Set up Reduction, Problem Solving, Materials Management and 6 Sigma) to drive the continuous improvement performance when apply. Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s Degree required Minimum 5 years of experience in a related manufacturing or engineering environment. Analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving tools (Six Sigma, 8D, or other) Basic knowledge of national and local safety and environmental standards, guidelines and policies such as ISO 14001, MESH and/or applicable regional initiatives. Ability to provide and foster effective on-going communication at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of EBS (Eaton Business System), ELS (Eaton Lean System), CIF, 5s and appropriate quality systems. Experience conducting multidisciplinary teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills English language at a conversational level required ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Process oriented with an understanding of business, lean and quality systems. Strong communication and group presentation skills and comfort with facilitating teams / groups and working with all levels in the organization. Proficient in MS Office toolset. Ability to plan, organize and build effective teams and motivate others. Ability to facilitate team sessions. Highly motivated and driven for results.
