ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
? Liaises with Pfizer Procurement, External Supply and Supply Chain colleagues to ensure alignment of supplier operations EHS priorities and expectations.
? Supports the Supplier Operations EHS program in China, including:
o Provide Process Safety subject matter expertise and support to Pfizer suppliers as part of Pfizer’s Global EHS Supplier program.
o Evaluate Process Safety risks associated with pharmaceutical processes and infrastructure. Providing Process Safety technical support to stakeholders during new and/or modified sourcing supplier requests.
o Conducts on-site audits at external supplier facilities with a focus on evaluating Process Safety.
o Provide Process Safety and general safety training and advice to enhance Process Safety Management at supplier locations.
o Evaluation of due diligence questionnaires associated with proposed new business relationships; to ensure alignment with Pfizer expectations.
o Conducts or leverages other Pfizer SMEs to support focused desk top assessment to confirm vendor risk profile.
o Support the external supplier assessment schedule in alignment with program operating procedures and in support of business priorities.
o Provides timely communications to key stakeholders on the outcomes of external supplier reviews and the risks associated with the external supply chain.
o Develops timely reports and documents outcomes in defined systems supporting the program.
o Participates in the governance process for review of elevated risk suppliers through provision of objective information in relation to risk management practices.
o Drives EHS action plans associated with supplier reviews to closure.
o Establishes effective EHS governance processes with key long-term vendors to drive key initiatives e.g. process safety risk reduction and environmental sustainability opportunities.
o Participates in business development due diligence assessments as required, supporting the evaluation of EHS risks associated and summarizing the key material EHS issues

? Occasionally will also lead and partake in EHS audits of company facilities (R&D, manufacturing and commercial offices) within region.
o Audits EHS and Business Continuity Management (BCM) management systems relative to country specific regulatory requirements and company EHS and BCM Standards.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
? Undergraduate Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred or an Engineering / Science Degree.
? Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in Pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
? Detailed knowledge of health and safety and/or environmental regulatory framework and regulations in China.
? Operational site experience in developing site-based programs and fostering continuous improvement in EHS performance (particularly in Process Safety).
? Ability to foster peer relationships over a short period of time and can quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all. Easily gains trust and support of peers while also being candid.
? Ability to independently identify the strengths and weaknesses in EHS management and compliance systems.
? Ability to prioritize issues and report work product (written and verbal) objectively to senior leadership. Explains gaps when placed under challenge, in a way that quickly overcomes unproductive argument, to secure commitment to action
? Good oral, written and interpersonal communications skills with basic level English (and is willing as applicable to develop English verbal and written skills)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

? Qualification (e.g. Chemical Engineering) and experience in Process Safety Management.
? Active current membership in at least one relevant professional body, with a formal continuous professional development requirement
? Experience in Process Safety Review methodologies such as HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, SIL and FMEA
? Experience and training in EHS auditing an advantage.
? Experience in operational excellence tools including Root Cause Analysis an advantage.
