Job Description
Job Summary Conduct audit for new supplier development, verify the effectiveness of the cross-functional supplier selection process to ensure that the best possible suppliers are selected under consideration of the Total Cost of Ownership approach; applies Advanced Quality planning techniques such as SPC, FMEA, Control Plan, and Measurement System Analysis to evaluate supplier’s manufacturing ability to produce products with a stable process; works with supply base to assure product is submitted for approval to support new product development and launches (PPAP/FAI process); perform supplier quality role in PRO Launch for new product introduction, work out Supplier Production Control Plans, Supplier Production Part Approval Documentation, Supplier Process Risk Assessment & Mitigation, Supplier Error Proofing Plans; deploy Eaton EQS and Supplier Excellence Manual for custom made part and to strategic suppliers; supplier DPPM analysis, set up metrics to measure supplier quality performance, drive supplier for continuous quality improvement. Monitor supplier corrective actions; drive Close Loop Corrective Action for Material issues; provide Supplier Training on SSA, QPA, PFA, FAI, ProLaunch/PPAP, 8D, EQS, and SEM. Job Responsibilities Manage audit for new suppliers’ development and annual audit for existing suppliers per QMS requirements. Develop Process Quality Control Plan for components with suppliers; Lead risk assessments and create product quality control plans with suppliers. Supplier New Part Qualification per QMS requirements along with development vendor's improvement plans. Conduct Quality Process Audit for supplier continuous improvement. Perform Focus 5 supplier improvement plan, conduct QBR meeting with strategic suppliers, based on the supplier's capability and preventive quality system. Work with the supplier/vendor to develop ITP (inspection test plan) for critical parts and ensure the suppliers follow it with proper and correct inspection method. Run and track EQS and SEM for critical suppliers, provide supplier management tools training and mentoring to the suppliers for quality awareness, 8D tools, PPAP/FAI, SPC, Lean & six sigma tools, support vendors to build Lean and six sigma projects, improve suppliers’ process capacity. To be involve in the operation about EBE, ELSS, EQS assessment and customer and external audit, support across the organization to drive short-term and long term business improvements in supplier management. Support plant to deploy improvement in the quality management system, select top suppliers to conduct onsite assessment and support supplier build the QMS. Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics or Mechanics (or similar). Years and area of experience required: 4-7 years of experience in supplier quality management. Strong mechanical background in working with Packaging, or Plastic Molding and Metal Stamping suppliers. Technical knowledge: QMS and production process; understanding and implementing SPC; awareness of the basic tools of AQP, e.g., FMEA, Control Plan, Process Capability; basic understanding of the industry/customer specific Advanced Quality Planning processes and product validation and approval requirements; technically incline and knows how to interpret drawings/diagrams. Soft skills: Knows how to deal, negotiate with customers & suppliers & Eaton's Design and Engineering team.
