Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for component development and quality improvement activities at supplier side, to make sure supplier delivery on track to support motor development from prototype to mass production. This Job requests the candidate to have very good communication skills with clear mind and work closely with global suppliers to support cross-function team’s critical decision making. Key objectives: On time delivery of high quality components both for prototypes and serial production.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementation of advanced quality planning to oversee the localization and industrialization supplier development to ensure their delivery on tracking and incoming parts quality under control

• Leading and driving supplier improvement from prototype to serial production according to APQP process and ensure supplier ‘s launch readiness for new products and engineering design changes

• Co-ordinate all quality related issues with cross-function team as PM, SCM, IQC, QE, Product Engineering and Project Teams

• Facilitate technical review before engineering formal release, and work closely with Product Engineering, IQC and Supplier to make sure all quality control and inspection methods are well aligned

• Conduct supplier & key process survey, and prototype /serial production supplier audit to ensure their capability to meet part quality, cost and delivery expectations

• Monitor each supplier's performance through reasonable metrics of production statistics, inspections and audits to support the critical path decision making

• Provide input and support on new or alternative material/processes for design improvement, manufacturability, or cost reduction

• MS or BS’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive Powertrain Engineering or relevant power electronics fields
• 3-5 years’ solid experience of supplier quality development or management of automotive key components with good sense of quality planning, prioritizing and implementing, as well as hand on experience of validating inspection methods and gauges, and driving corrective actions / failure analysis efforts

• Well understanding at least one of the key manufacturing process like plastic injection, PCBA, die-casting/low pressure casting and machining stamping and machining, or automotive high volume quality manufacturing engineering
• Good skills of problem solving tools including 8D, fish bone, design of experiments, root cause analysis and statistical process control principles.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T, tooling, jigs and fixtures
• Project management experience and knowledge will be a good plus
