Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Marsiling, Singapore - 8 to 10 mins walk from Woodlands MRT / bus interchange
Operating hours: Mon-Fri, 8am to 5:15pm
Position Summary:
This role reports into the Supplier Quality Manager based in Marsiling, Singapore. You will cover the following commodities: Mechanical, Machining, Packaging and Off-the-shelf.
Responsibilities:
- Drive improvements and reduce risk in our Supply Chain at our Manufacturing site. Primary responsibilities of the SQE will be to qualify new suppliers, analyze and improve supplier performance, implement corrective actions or quality plans at supplier sites to prevent repeat non-conformances using Quality Tools (FMEA, CpK, GR&R, SPC, etc.) and perform supplier audits.
- Develops and ensures the execution of objectives for the control of suppliers, contract manufacturers and service providers in alignment with corporate goals and objectives; including assuring the supply of on-time, acceptable product and services.
- Develops and/or continuously improves procedures, policies and quality assurance methodologies including but not exclusive to: end of life materials/components, product development process and sustaining engineering. Collaborates with Procurement, R&D and Operations to effectively define roles and responsibilities and supply priorities and actions.
- Ensures the Supplier Quality function operates according to procedures and provides direction to receiving inspection staff. Manages personnel, including coaching, mentoring, evaluating performance, and disciplinary actions. Cross-functionally coordinates with the Procurement team assigned to support supplied products and materials.
- Review and approves supplier records including but not exclusive to: contracts, quality plans, change requests, SCARs/CAPAs, NCRs, verification and validation protocols and reports.
- Participates in the Material Review Board meetings, Supply Chain Risk Management teams, CAPA Review Board meetings and other critical decision-making meetings as required to define and assess supplier’s roles, responsibilities and effectiveness.
- Leads and owns responsibility for supplier/service provider and internal audits.
- Support plant-wide activities and special projects, as assigned.
Non-Negotiable Criteria:
- Degree with min. 4-6 years of Supplier Quality experience or Diploma with min. 8-10 years of Supplier Quality experience
- Academic specialization in any of the following: Engineering, Operations Management or Biological Sciences
- ISO 9001 internal audit experience
- Strong mechanical engineering background
- MS office proficient
- Work independently and self-motivated.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Able to travel up to 25% across Asia Pacific
Nice to have:
- ISO13485 or ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor certified
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 820.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certified.
- ERP software and/or Minitab experience
