Position/Job Description:

Investigate, analyze and resolve OEM supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects.

Essential Duties:

Responsible for establishing, maintaining and improving the electric suppliers’ quality assurance & development system and reporting timely

• Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (Past due), DPPM and waste. Report supplier performance regularly
• Guide suppliers in projects APQP and PPAP activities mile stone review (such as EP, MP&SOP etc.) and monitor manufacturing process to match control plans, solve open issues, identify potential risks and take necessary preventive / poka-yoka actions at each stage.
• Support electrics suppliers quality issues solving and 8D reports, responsible for closing up 8D reports timely.
• Conduct supplier audit (no limited to FSQA) to drive process standardization, problem correction, waste elimination and continuous improvement.
• Work closely (via conferences, emails and visiting suppliers together etc.) with Global PMO &SQE team on project progress, APQP, PPAP, quality issues and supplier improvement status review.
• Aide manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined new product development process. Aide in the new, probationary and rejected supplier transition processes
• Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting business requirements. Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6‐Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events.
• Manage internal customer relationships and coordinate with Commodity Management and Advanced Purchasing the selection, assessment and approval of supplier and parts.
• Highlight cost-potentials and secure implementation in collaboration with the Sourcing team
• Analyze and highlight any inhibiting topics at our suppliers (quality and process-related) and actively support further development of the supply base
• Strategic local alignment with all relevant internal stakeholders like Production, Sourcing, R&D to determine focus suppliers / products and establish roadmaps to fulfil their specific needs

Education

• Having a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Production Related Area or relevant field. Desired: Electrical engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 7 years of experience working with electrics suppliers’ quality related topics and manufacturing engineering experience in relevant area.
• With professional knowledge on electrical or related field. Familiar with manufacturing process on SMT, DIP, soldering, Coating, ESD, ICT etc., familiar with IPC standard, UL, ULC and CE.
• Familiar with manufacturing process on die-casting, stamping, punching, welding, forging, sintering, heat treatment, machining etc.
• Possession of recognized qualification in quality engineering, audit processes and relevant certifications (e.g. Six Sigma).
• Quality assurance, supplier development, and general manufacturing engineering experience.
• Having experience on two or four stroke engine, electrical, battery garden products manufacturing and test process.
• Good knowledge and experience in Battery, charger, electric motor and PCBA etc.
• Knowledge on compliance. (REACH ROHS etc.)
• Fluency in Mandarin and English is required (written and oral), in other language is an advantage.

• Ability to travel 30-60% to domestic and/or international sites.
• Thorough working knowledge of quality systems methods and quality engineering practices (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, Root Cause Analysis, Lean manufacturing concepts, Pareto Analysis etc.)
• Demonstrated experience in performing assessments of new and existing suppliers
• Teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop high quality working relationships both internally and externally
• Strong planning, organization, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary company information
• Strong written & verbal communications skills and strong interpersonal skills (e.g., tact/diplomacy, listening, negotiation, consulting)
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptive to changes, unexpected events and/or internal processes.
• Knowledge and experience with software applications. including presentation and database application
