The primary function of the Supply Chain Manager is to provide leadership, development, and direction for supply chain functions and assigned staff. Directs and manages procurement, planning, warehousing, and traffic processes to assure continuous improvement of product quality through planning and integrating functions and services to support organizational goals and priorities. Ensures Customer focus and product availability through effective management of MRP (Material requirement planning) / MPS (Master production schedule) while ensuring cost and quality compliance. Participates on the new process changes and introduction of new products to assure that product transfer activities are conducted according to project plans and required resources are properly identified and allocated to support the activities and goals are met with no impact to Customer Service. Ensures external and internal customer focus, with key decision-making responsibilities for products. Develops relationship with internal and external stakeholders to ensure product availability, with full alignment to production plan. Leaderships the effective management of Master Production Schedule, Material Requirement Planning and inventory levels. Drives continuous improvement within the planning area to sustain Operational Excellence and improved financial performance. Ensures the development and delivery of the Supply Chain organizational vision and strategic objectives. Provides leadership to the direct material purchasing group handling the purchase of over $85MM in raw materials and packaging commodities. Coordinate and conduct Purchasing benchmarks, internal and external, to identify best-in-class purchasing services. Recommends implementation plans based on benchmark findings. Decides on savings priorities and take ownership and lead negotiations where appropriate. Educates purchasing professionals on the correct usage of financial and economic data/trends. Ensures adherence to corporate policies and corporate purchasing policies. Periodic audits are conducted with action plans issued for remediation. Develops senior level relationships with suppliers to resolve critical issues, delivers cost savings, and implement value-added processes. Monitors and achieves optimal inventory turnover consistent with plant efficiencies, customer service and distribution requirements. Directs warehousing operations by developing and implementing procedures consistent with good inventory practices while maintaining cGMP compliance. Minimizes and/or purges surplus/obsolete/deleted/rejected inventory. Drives compliance with the relevant purchasing and Customs and Trade Compliance policies and procedures. Identifies inventory loss exposure routinely; work with finance to avoid or reserve for potential loss. Ensures that the Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZ) requirements are met. Maintains a safe workplace with positive employee morale. Ensures compliance with all government regulations including FDA, EPA, and OSHA along with local, state requirements and foreign regulatory agencies as applicable. Coordinates efforts with various Divisional groups to launch new products/ technologies, support production schedules and customer service goals. Develops personnel and identify a management succession plan for all key positions. Establishes clear expectations with employees regarding roles, goals, competencies, and core job responsibilities. Links expectations to department, business, and/or division goals. Provides timely, balanced feedback on an ongoing basis and through the annual performance assessment process. Partners with employees in developing their growth plans and provide opportunities for employees to develop competencies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, preferable in Industrial Engineering. At least 10 years of related experience is required. Must be experienced and demonstrate high level of technical skill in: Planning Management Production/Inventory Control Management Purchasing Management Experience and demonstrated knowledge in: Distribution Center Management Inventory Planning, Warehousing/Procurement Advanced proficiency in Excel and SAP is required Hands-on experience in Capacity Planning, SAP (HANA), Master Production Scheduler, Resource Planning. APICS certification(s) a plus Experience and Knowledge of MRP, ERP, CPCS, SAP Ability to develop, design, execute and manage complex supply chain situations. Ability to make operational and business decisions with minimum direction from immediate manager. Must have knowledge and skill in personnel management and, develop and managing budget. Ability to interact and establish positive interaction with internal/external customers. Shows broad understanding of technical issues relevant to the business.
