JOB FUNCTION – REQUIREMENTS
This position is responsible for leading and executing Asia Pacific resin supply chain strategies primarily for the Coatings businesses. The incumbent will work with the 6 Resin facilities, including Clayton and Dahej, and the 6 SBUs to develop strategies and tactics for the Asia Pacific Resin with the respective SBUs and Corporate Strategies. The incumbent will work through the matrix organization of each BUs and Corporate entities and can be involved in Cross Region subjects at the initiative of the Global Resin Supply Chain Manager.
Key responsibilities for the incumbent include:
- Lead Resin BSR information creation process in alignment with the SBU resin strategy by working with SC & Technical Organizations to capture demand, trend (product life cycle), new product development and capacity planning for the BSR period of 5 years.
- Drive Resins S&OP in coordination with different SBUS to optimize total PPG service and cost while balancing available capacity x-SBUs.
- Drive inventory optimization of both raw material and finished good across all resin plants. Facilitate any resin raw material pre-buy activity with procurement and finance along with other stakeholders.
- Work with the global and regional X-functional teams in executing the resin rationalization strategy, also in make/buy decisions.
- Own local planning process in conjunction with SBUs demand for manufactured resins at all manufacturing locations, purchased resins from both associates and external suppliers through the implementation of monthly demand review and PSO process.
- Initiate production transfers in coordination with Asia-Pacific Resin Engineering Manager to assure service and reduce total PPG cost.
- Develop quick cost transfer scenarios in coordination with finance and IT.
- Manage any potential Resin SC crisis x-SBU.
Requires:
Supply Chain Management Skills
- Minimum 5 years in Resin and/or Ecoat Operations
- A Technical Degree (engineering, physics, chemistry, etc)
- Aptitude in project management and decision making processes
- Knowledge in computerized database utilization
- Skills in communication / presentation
- Good interpersonal relationship
- Understanding of financial tools
- Fluency in English
- Flexibility to travel
