Job Description

Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Supply Chain Modeling and Optimization Manager to join our team. This position is based in any Eaton US facility or an approved remote location.

Our supply chain management team creates bottom-line impact by driving cost management and operational benefits. Within our supply chain, the Supply Chain Modeling and Optimization Manager manages and leads complex Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) projects by collaborating with key business stakeholders and developing supply chain network models and recommendations. This role may guide other project team members to resolve complex supply chain problem statements, and works with other business contributors to manage projects and programs as per defined expectations.

This role will act as an SME for Supply Chain Network Design and Optimization through the use of Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru to drive large-scale Supply Chain decisions for significant Inventory, Network and Transportation optimization and simulation initiatives. The Supply Chain Modeling and Optimization Manager will leverage synergies across businesses and drive the “One Supply Chain” philosophy to maximize results within and across businesses.

In this role you will:

  • Initiate and execute a pipeline of global initiatives through end-to-end project management: scope projects, identify resource requirements, articulate deliverables and develop timelines
  • Prepare, manage and lead formal gate review process, summarize complex problems and drive decision-making
  • Develop supply chain network models using LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru to perform Network, Transportation and Inventory Optimization and Simulation – and guide/coach team members on technical modeling expertise
  • Develop inventory optimization models using Inventory Guru – able to dynamically update parameters and responses to different scenarios
  • Provide guidance and functional expertise to more junior internal modelers to best perform step-by-step project execution (data pull, transformation, aggregation, data summaries, modeling, analytics…) to achieve tangible results through holistic scenario analysis
  • Work directly with internal stakeholders and business leaders to understand business objectives, identify data requirements, and formulate strategies that yield value
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, solution alternatives, and calculate benefits to the end-to-end supply chain
  • Develop innovative solutions leveraging internal tools, knowledge, and best practice sharing across teams and functions
  • Be responsive to internal requests and requirements while keeping overall project target, objectives and timeline in mind
  • Present findings at multiple levels of seniority within the organization and recommend best-fit solutions based on the rigor of the supply chain modeling process – coupled with the execution feasibility within the business in scope.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 7 years’ professional experience in Supply Chain or Operations
  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in Supply Chain optimization and modeling
  • Minimum 3 years’ project management experience
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States on an on-going basis without Company sponsorship
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business analytics or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years professional experience in Supply Chain optimization and modeling in a consulting environment
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain from an accredited institution

 

Position Criteria

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of inventory optimization principles
  • Ability to coordinate large scale initiatives (owning the project plan, defining key milestones, communication to project stakeholders and holding team members accountable to the project plan)
  • Strategic network design and optimization
  • Thought leadership and supply chain acumen on inventory or network optimization projects
  • Inventory Optimization/Simulation
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally among the entire supply chain is preferred
  • Advanced skill with MS Office suite, especially Excel, Access and MS PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge and experience of LLamasoft Data Guru, Supply Chain Guru, Llama.ai and App builder
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills: communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with senior management, suppliers, operations and SCM personnel
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strategic mindset and supply chain acumen, ability to see "the big picture"
  • Dealing with ambiguity, ability to reframe & efficiently identify the right approach to complex problems
  • Ability to coordinate or work with cross-functional and global teams
  • Extreme attention to details
  • Strong presentation skills to present findings, data summaries and recommendations during project review meetings
  • Ability to maintain set timelines and to be accountable for on-time delivery of projects
