Job Description
The Supply Chain Specialist (SCS) is responsible for maintaining a safe and organized shipping and receiving area within Switchgear Modernization Operations Warrendale location, while adhering to the policies and procedures of Eaton; ensuring the expedient and accurate shipping of customer orders, and receipt of materials, performoing incoming inspection for accuracy and conformance of product; updating Oracle PO system as received. Shipments must be packaged and loaded with the highest of quality to withstand logistical transitioning from terminal to customer. The SCS will also serve as back up to the coordinators, learning to process material orders, invoicing and forecasting for the following suffixes – APG, APS, AFT, ABR, SSV, while performing regular duties. This postion will require the use of a forklift. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DIMENSIONS Maintain a Zero Safety Incident Culture while adhering to the Life Saving Rules of Eaton Follow written and oral instructions, adhering to all company policies and procedures Maintain quality workmanship, observe safety procedures, report any unsafe acts or conditions immediately to management Manage the receiving and preparation, boxing/crating/packaging, and processing of paperwork for product shipping in to and out of the facility to satisfy customer orders Verify styles and quantities of jobs being shipped, checking styles and quantities so they align with the appropriate shipping labels, manufacturing schedule and nameplates on units Maintain sufficient levels of shipping and packaging material/supplies (Pallets, boxes, tape, etc.) to ensure continuous shipment of product to meet delivery requirements Interact with logistics company to arrange pick up’s of expedited shipments Work closely with coordinators to ensure accurate and timely shipments Keep shipping and receiving area within requirements of 5S and maintain daily checklist for housekeeping such as fork truck inspections Unload and stage pallets of materials in appropriate areas of receiving, utilizing packing slips, verifying styles/quantities, and receive in PO’s in Oracle. Stage product to assigned job carts for manufacturingand update production spreadsheet and Planner tool accordingly Maintain accurate inventory levels for all consumables conducting weekly cycle counts. Maintain packing lists, labels and computer generated paperwork for all material being received and update in project folders and or production schedule, update Microsoft Planner tool as appropriate to indicate state of order. Verify styles and quantities of materials picked for jobs by visual inspection of product, and place material on job carts to be distributed to the production floor Resolve discrepancies by researching all possible solutions to ensure order is accurately and timely received Report any discrepant delivery to purchasing buyer immediately when items are received Flex to production floor when work levels are low in the shipping and receiving areas to help with subassemblies or basic assembly functions Maintain site production floor aisles by using floor scrubber as needed or directed by management Utilze as the goal alignment and development tool for personal and job specific requirements Utilize company pool vehicle to deliver or pick up material from supplier sites as needed Lead annual physical inventory working with Finance and Supply Chain to meet or exceed expectations Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field Associate degree from an accredited institution OR military experience OR Minimum 2 years of supply chain experience experience with high school diploma Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Must reside within a 50 mile radius of the work location; no relocation benefit provided Valid driver’s license in good standing is required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management form accredited university Strong understanding of Vista, Oracle Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel POSITION CRITERIA: Ability to multitask Basic mathematical skills Ability to work overtime on short notice Strong interpersonal skills with heavy emphasis on good communication skills (Oral and written) Computer skills surrounding Microsoft Office suite, Oracle and Planner Excellent problem solving skills with a strong sense of urgency Position requires high level of concentration and close attention to details Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs, unassisted and throughout the day as needed Continous standing, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling Requirement to train and qualify for forklift driving license Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
