This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a SC&M Lead Project Engineer you will be responsible for: Managing and driving complex projects for implementation of new medical device and reagent consumable products, including establishing sourcing strategies, process development and qualification into both internal and external manufacturing operations while meeting product cost targets and quality requirements. Representing Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing on project Core Teams, supporting the Point of Care product franchises with business line-specific targets. Support planning and execution of verification and validation activities. Develop test plans and drive implementation of manufacturing qualification systems. Assist with formalizing and releasing documentation such as component specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), and assembly instructions; Review engineering documents and provide detailed feedback concerning manufacturability. Develop lean manufacturing processes. Required skills to have for the success of this role: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required. Master’s Degree preferred (technical or MBA). Experience (5-8 years) working in a regulated (ISO, FDA) manufacturing environment with a preference for new product introduction. Subject matter expert on design transfer activity from R&D to manufacturing. Experience in establishing supply chain strategies and their implementation. Experience with design and manufacturing tools and principles involved in the production of precision devices, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of high-quality goods, such as “Lean” and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Experience with biochemical assay manufacturing process development and qualification a plus. Experience working in fast-paced, focused, cross-functional teams on high-level projects. Problem solving skills and the ability to take a logical approach to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Ability to interface with engineering team and other professionals in a cross-functional organization. Strong self-management, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills to work within tight deadlines.
