YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Supply Manager, are to: 

 

  • Lead, influence, and drive multi-disciplinary teams towards solving pipeline feasibility issues and questions;
  • Be responsible for a comprehensive Supply Strategy for all Global Breeding Crops early phase pipeline, leveraging analytics, financials, and automation to ensure pipeline optimization and continuity;
  • Provide leadership with contingency and business driven scenarios that help enable long term business insights;
  • Influence individuals anywhere within the organization to a common theme, can drive a focused conversation that produces an ideal outcome across differences of opinions and thoughts;
  • Be constantly focused on improving the network supply allocation for short- and long-term perspectives to ensure lowest cost of production;
  • Leverage performance metrics and KPI’s to ensure the proper sourcing strategy that meets Breeding objectives and then drive transparency and actions through these insights;
  • Partner in model creation, logic and use to improve supply network;
  • Collaborate with teams to present needed fixed asset investments where supply is infeasible;
  • Monitor adherence to Strategic Supply plan for current work to inform future years;
  • Be knowledgeable on operational conversions to enable supply: Planting densities, pollination rates, roadmap and cycle time variances.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science disciplines and with Supply Chain knowledge, (Biology, Chemistry, etc) with 10 years functional/management experience, or Master’s degree with eight years functional/management experience, or Ph.D. with four years functional/management experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of logistics optimization models, analytics, and systems;
  • Capable of delivering results in a global, matrixed, diverse, fast paced environment;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required given the job scope;
  • Collaborative problem solver, strong communicator, continual improvement mindset;
  • Comfortable with managing conflict amongst stakeholders; drives support of strategic priorities through logical presentation for the need for change;
  • Skilled at synthesizing large amounts of data and multiple stakeholder points of view into a strategic summary for presentation to global senior leaders in the Executive Sales and Operations Planning Reviews;
  • Strong background and experience in Microsoft Excel, Spotfire and other electronic systems;
  • Ability to travel 10%.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree with eight years or Ph.D. with four years of experience in the sciences;
  • Prior experience with Lean principles;
  • Working knowledge in molecular marker techniques, and analyses;
  • Able to analyze complex, multidisciplinary challenges involving field testing and seed production;
  • Experience and passion for solving analytical problems involving data sets using quantitative approaches.
