Job Description
Eaton’s Mission Systems is currently seeking a Surface Mount Solderer to join our team on 1st Shift. This position is based at our Davenport, IA facility. Starting pay rate is $24.23 (this role qualifies for pay step increases every 3 months until the max is reached at $26.65/hour). Position Overview: The Surface Mount Solderer is responsible for assembling and disassembling and soldering on a wide variety of parts and sub-assemblies. In this function you will: Assembles and disassembles electronic products in any state, from partial to complete. Performs soldering (thru hole & surface mount) on a wide variety of parts and sub-assemblies where the application of heat must be carefully controlled. Replaces malfunctioning parts and/or sub-assemblies, as necessary. Diagnoses, troubleshoots and reworks non-conforming units in order to return them to acceptable status. Uses a variety of hand and power tools, soldering irons, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and measuring and test equipment to produce finished electronic products that meet all stated requirements. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must demonstrate proficiency in surface mount soldering, working under extremely close tolerances. Must be proficient in the use of various solders, fluxes, paste, and rinses. Must be able to read and evaluate various types of readouts including blueprints (both mechanical and electronic), assembly drawings, sketches, and analysis sheets, to determine the status of units and/or their components. Must demonstrate the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot assemblies, using appropriate equipment. Must be skilled in the use of various kinds of hand and power tools, soldering irons, jigs, fixtures, gauges, measuring and test equipment as required by the job. Requires skill in fitting, adjusting, compensating and testing under close tolerances using prescribed methods. Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions when performing job duties. Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and must be able to get along with co-workers. Must be able to work with limited supervision.
