RWS Division:
RWS Regulated Industries division
provides a full suite of language services exclusively for highly regulated industries such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, Financial services, and Legal industries.  This includes language solutions for clinical trial management and linguistic validation of Clinical Outcomes Assessments (COAs), insurance, retail, commercial and investment banking, compliance, mergers & acquisitions and Litigation.

About the Role:
Under the general supervision of the LV Services Manager, completes LV related projects from research and reconciliation perspective and completes research projects for presentation/publication. Assesses SRA workload and assigns projects as appropriate. Provides training and guidance to other SRAs and LV department members as needed. Initiates and implements procedural changes and evaluates for effectiveness. Maintains and continually improves Concept Elaboration Guide archive.

Utilizes problem-solving abilities to uncover problems within systems and to identify and suggest areas for improvements. Analyzes trends, develops operations and processes.

Serves as lead to department employees including monitoring and assigning jobs and mentoring staff. Effectively coordinates team projects or department work groups. May serve as back up to department Supervisor or Manager, as appropriate. 


Responsibilities

  • Understands and adheres to company Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. 
  • Assists with root cause analysis.
  • Assists the Supervisor and/or Manager of the LV Services Department in administering the department’s functions and operations including ensuring all client projects are completed in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner and transmitted to clients as required. 
  • Assists in scheduling and assigning work within the department, setting work methods and performance standards. Modifies work assignments according to complexity and staff availability as necessary to meet the department’s objectives. 
  • Assists in evaluation of department members in a timely and professional manner for ensuring their department and individual performance objectives are met. 
  • Handles questions from Survey Research Analyst team for the purpose of resolving issues and implementing corrective measures as necessary to ensure proper workflow and client satisfaction, escalating as necessary to the department Supervisor and/or Manager. 
  • Handles questions from other Linguistic Validation staff for the purpose of resolving issues and implementing process improvements as necessary to ensure proper workflow and client satisfaction, escalating as necessary to the department Supervisor and/or Manager. 
  • Actively participates in meetings as needed to report on departmental activities and project status. 
  • Reviews source documents for structure and ease of translation to foreign language/country of study.
  • Compares and reconciles concepts between source document and back translation.
  • Creates documents for use during LV projects, including concept elaboration guides and paraphrase guides.
  • Evaluates subject understanding of items following cognitive debriefing, and makes recommendations regarding the resolution of conceptual issues present in the translation. 
  • Prepares validation report as summary of LV project including comments specific to particular study.
  • Conducts academic research studies to provide further expertise in translation related areas. Authors related abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
  • Coordinates with colleagues in other departments for the purpose of ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date spreadsheets and other documents needed to ensure that that there is a complete overview of the current status of research projects and that information is readily retrievable.
  • Assists in maintaining and ensuring the reliability of key operating data and databases.
  • Maintains project and client records as needed.
  • Assigns and assesses internal Survey Research Analyst workload in order to utilize in-house staff effectively 
  • Develops and implements strategy for significantly reducing the cost of external Survey Research services.
  • Composes or generates a variety of materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, manuals, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, training, providing written reference and/or conveying information regarding the 
  • status of projects, etc.
  • Initiates and implements procedural changes, as needed, creating/revising work instructions, training staff on new work instructions and completing training records
  • Provides training for internal Survey Research Analysts
  • Provides maintenance and ongoing improvement of Concept Elaboration Guide (CEG) archive
  • Assists Marketing and HR in creation and review of external client and internal employee surveys
  • Assists Sales in creation of LV client presentations and provides training to Sales on LV-related topics, as needed
  • Reviews external manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, as requested
  • Reviews abstracts and other materials as requested by industry groups (ISPOR and ISOQOL)


Requirements:

  • Advanced Degree in Survey Research, Public Health or related field required.
  • Foreign Language knowledge desirable.
  • Previous experience in the translation field desirable.
  • Successful experience as Survey Research Analyst (company position) minimum of one year. 
  • Successful leadership or mentoring experience
  • Survey research background with understanding of requirements related to linguistic validation.
  • Knowledge of English grammar, syntax, and word usage, and excellent writing and proofreading skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of related company LV procedures
  • Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form, and to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Office 365/Skype).
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding company financial and other information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work; teamwork and consensus-building skills.
  • Ability to resolve customer service issues in a professional and efficient manner
