SUSHI SOUS CHEF | BLACK SHEEP RESTAURANTS
The Sushi Sous Chef at Black Sheep Restaurants is responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations and developing the Japanese menu for existing and developing concepts. This person must have prior experience in a Sous Chef role with expertise in Sushi making.
Specific responsibilities include menu development, kitchen set up for new restaurant opening, maintaining high food quality and consistency, staff hiring and training, and the day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of Japanese cooking experience
- 3+ years of experience in sushi making
- Experience working in high volume and fast-paced restaurants
- Superior understanding of Japanese cuisine and specifically sushi
- Recipe and menu development skills
- Experience managing food and labor costs
- Experience training and hiring staff
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong English language skills for guest-facing interaction
- Catering and event execution experience
