About us

Inter IKEA Systems B.V. (Core Business Franchise) is one part of Inter IKEA Group. Inter IKEA Group consists of three core businesses in total: Franchise, Range & Supply and Industry. Together, these core businesses work to secure continuous improvement, development, expansion and longevity of the IKEA Concept.  
 

Core Business Franchise is the owner of the IKEA Concept and the worldwide IKEA franchisor. We are specifically responsible for the IKEA strategic framework, ensuring the IKEA Concept is updated, relevant, implemented and followed-up – together with all IKEA trademark users.
 

How do we do this? By enabling people across the IKEA value chain, and creating unique content to develop the IKEA business. Here are some examples of our different assignments.

About the role

As Sustainability Development Leader, you are mainly responsible for:
 

·        Developing and supporting assignments to create a clear position and direction to inspire and enable CBF to integrate sustainability ambitions into our priorities and every day ways of working for all to enable a people, planet and societal positive franchise offer. The assignments/projects are to be supported effectively to ensure that identified deliverables are met on time and in good quality, stakeholders are engaged throughout the project, and next steps are clearly identified and ownership is achieved by the Leadership Areas.

·        Exploring, investigating & inspiring new sustainability trends, movements & solutions for sustainable meeting and

·        Participating in different forums in IKEA representing CBF sustainability, such as pre-sustainability council, matrix meetings, and strategic initiatives meetings.

·        Ensuring CBF sustainability & business priorities assignments movement and coordinate the network of stakeholders cross CBF/IKEA  ensuring all are updated on relevant information and with right connections to make it happen

·        Supporting CBF and franchisees with sustainability expertise in integrating sustainability in the business agenda by collaborate on defining goals and scalable activities creating biggest impact

·        Leading with solutions oriented approach with facts, clarifying and simplifying for the many, contributing to successful integration and amplification by the line organization(s)

About you

To be successful in this role, we believe you are experienced in leading and driving strategic sustainability projects. You have strong knowledge and understanding of IKEA business and way of working.

We expect you to have a strong commitment with IKEA values and passion to be part of developing the IKEA sustainability agenda. You have proven leadership and sustainability experience including risk management. Your good communication skills enables you to build strong relationships in the business together with your proactive way of working.

Qualifications

University degree in sustainability, or relevant senior working experience

Proven successful Project Management experience

Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling strategic cross organizational projects

Broad understanding of relevant aspects of the business, organization and ways of working, preferably retail sustainability experience

Proven change management skills and experience from driving strategic change with and through leaders

Proven experience from stakeholder engagement

Proven experience of driving successful change and realizing business benefits

The role is based in Delft in the Netherlands, or potentially in Malmö, Sweden. You will report to the Sustainability Manager.
