In this exciting role you will support the global implementation of wet packaging technologies for pouch or tray to meet the agreed 2025 plastics strategy for Pet Nutrition. You work closely together with the regional implementation teams, the central and regional packaging sustainability program leads, and the technical packaging experts in the other Global Innovation Centers. This role is based in Verden, Germany.

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Be the expert for requirements & specifications of packaging materials, designs, technologies as well as manufacturing technology & equipment 
• Specialist for the environmental impact / footprint as well as relevant end-of-life and recycling technologies 
• Accountable for the technical program to transform the current packaging portfolio according to the glidepath in collaboration with Demand to guarantee pet & pet parent centricity for our future sustainable packaging portfolio
• Scout in collaboration with Commercial for sustainable materials, innovative suppliers & technologies and benchmark their technical program against evolving technical options
• Set-up qualification plans for new materials and packaging, execute those plans at suppliers’ site, in our labs, innovation center and on manufacturing lines in the lead region
• Close collaboration with existing or new packaging / packaging material suppliers on their technical programs
• Generate environmental footprint data (LCA) for different packaging options to support the decision for the future packaging portfolio
• Collaborate with Quality & Food Safety, Commercial & Supply to create the standards & specifications for the new packaging and generate all necessary documentation 

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field
• Working experience in the packaging and/or sustainability area
• Professional knowledge in packaging technology and testing
• Excellent Project management skills
• Able to manage stakeholder expectations and strong influencing skills
• Results oriented, makes things happen, and open for change
• Fluent in English
