Sustainable Travel Project Coordinator

Our global headquarters moved to Cambridge in 2016 and we are continuously improving our facilities across the Cambridge Campus. Having just opened an additional office, the next phase of our journey is focussed on our new R&D facility in the centre of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC) which will be an open, welcoming and vibrant centre that will inspire our team and our partners to push the boundaries of scientific innovation.

As the Sustainable Travel Project Coordinator, you will form an integral part of our team responsible for implementing and leading key deliverables particularly with reference to driving forward AstraZeneca’s sustainable travel plans within Cambridge.  Your activities will be supervised; with your immediate manager providing guidance.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Accountable for managing travel incentives (pool cars, train, bus tickets and commuter bus tickets)
  • Lead parking strategy and shuttle bus services at all sites and analyse any gaps to ensure sufficient provisions for existing and future transition plans
  • Maintain detailed project schedules which includes tracking tasks and adherence to deadlines required for the projects
  • Responsible for the Travel Budget and creating purchase orders ensuring completeness and accuracy while following up on discrepancies
  • Provide sustainable employee commuter travel data and implement improvements on how this can be managed/maintained in the future.
  • Carry out additional administration duties as required

Essential Skills:

  • Interest in sustainable and green commuting methods transport including some knowledge of transport within Cambridge
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Project co-ordination experience ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining schedules
  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the travel team and with stakeholders in the wider Transition Team
  • Pro-active and self-motivated
  • Can create and maintain processes to work efficiently for both self and others
  • Willingness to travel across AstraZeneca sites in Cambridge as required
