Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division is seeking a Switchgear Modernization Director. The preferred locations for this position are Warrendale, PA, Greenwood, SC, and Houston, TX, but any major Eaton location in the US could be considered. Relocation assistance is available. This position will direct and coordinate the activities of the ELEM (Equipment Life Extension and Modernization) product line, including six locations, achieving sales, profit and growth goals while continually improving quality and customer service levels. Responsible for carrying out company polices and providing local market knowledge to the strategic planning process as well as developing an executing sales and marketing strategies. Job Responsibilities: Act as marketing and operations leader in conjunction with sales and operations management and peers to ensure top line sales and bottom line profit objectives are met. Provide strategic direction to identify and develop prospective new customers. Keep current on the trends and significant issues providing direction for the profit and strategic planning processes. Ensure the maintains effective relationships with and service to internal and external customers nationally, including seven locations. Leadership includes direct reports for the manufacturing functions from the Greenwood and Warrendale ELEM sites , indirect reports from the remaining four Power Breaker Reconditioning Center (PBRc) sites around the US, as well as, product line management direct report responsibilities. Facilitate teaming within and across the regions to support multi-national customers and/or industries. Develop forwarding looking profit plan and monthly forecasts with accuracy so that the operation meets these numbers on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. Responsible for budgeting and procurement of capital equipment for the ELEM organization, efficient execution of sales quotes, cost control, leveraging subcontractors, inventory management, managing receivables, and turn of backlog and projects. Works with credit department, resolves operational related terms & condition issues with the contracts department, and work with collections. Annually assist in the development of a strategic plan to determine growth and profit opportunities within the ELEM business. Assure an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, assessment of talent, training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal/management, and conformance to applicable company policies and standards. Provide leadership and direction to ensure professional growth for employees and retention within the region. Assure the safety of employees who work in low, medium, and high voltage work environments. Assures strict compliance with safety policies, develops and deploys safety programs, assures safety equipment resources are available and properly tested, provides direction for proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Effectively directs leadership team of diverse and dispersed technician workforce throughout assigned plants, sites, and reconditioning centers. Demonstrates good corporate citizenship. Assures the security and effective allocation of company resources and assets. Key regional interface with customers, service operations, sales force, manufacturing plants, product division management, and functional support staff. Interfaces and coordinates with plants, business units, and outside vendors to procure parts and services for the assigned region. Develop and deploy product/process improvement initiatives and sharing of best practices throughout and across the regions. Assure the safety of all employees and compliance with safety policies. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from accredited institution. 7 years of experience in managing and leading a product line, engineering unit and/or a minimum of 10 years of management experience in a related field. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering MBA from an accredited institution Position Criteria: Knowledge of power distribution and control products Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and resolve complaints. Demonstrated ability to lead people and manage a fiscal entity. Effective communication skills to drive engagement and growth.
