Detailed Description:
Define Complex Data & Optical communication equipment platform solutions (Switch/Router/Optic Transmission Equipment) and lead a multi-disciplined team to bring to implementation. Extensive and focused engagement through EVT, phasing out thereafter. Ensure overall design quality metrics are met.
Develop and maintain close technical relationships with suppliers/partners on product roadmaps and technologies.

• Lead the RFQ technical response teams.
• Deliverables include RFQ Technical Proposals, System Specifications, Product Requirements Documents (PRD), etc.
• Act as the primary technical interface between Celestica and Celestica's customers.
• Provide technical support to business development teams to assist in the winning of new business.
• Provide technical support to design teams to assist in the product requirements tracking and design quality assurance.
• Participate in the selection and hiring of design team resources as required.
• Identify and Champion process improvement efforts as needed.
• Participate in standards committees and industry groups as assigned.
• Prepare and present technical presentations to customers, industry groups, tradeshows, etc.
• Maintain current on industry trends and future technology and market opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Skills:

• Minimum of 12 years of enterprise&datacenter switch&routers/data communication equipments hardware design experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of data communication equipments experience at the system level.
• BS in Electrical Engineering required; MSEE preferred.
• Successful experience architecting and delivering switch/router products to market.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of the design process for systems and printed circuit boards, subassemblies, or other related company products.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment used for systems and printed circuit boards and subassemblies.
• In-depth knowledge of materials and components used in the construction of systems and printed circuit boards, including but not limited to Intel X86 series SoCs or other ARM based CPUs, DDR4/5 Memory chips/DIMMs, Solid State Disks, High Bandwidth Switch ASICs, Ethernet PHYs/Gearbox chips, Fixed/Pluggable Power Supply Units, Fixed/Pluggable Fan Modules, High Speed connectors, High speed PCB materials, etc.
• Extensive knowledge of system level power, thermal, mechanical, SW/FW and electrical design integration and engineering trade offs.
• In-depth knowledge of product pricing, contracts and contract negotiations.
• Excellent customer contact, negotiation and problem resolution skills. Interface and interact with large OEM customers on ongoing product related issues and new product design concepts.

Desired Skills:

• Experience of IEEE 1588 Complicated Chassis Level Switch/Router design is desired.
• 5 years experience as a direct line functional manager is desired.
• Prior participation in industry groups and associations is desired.
• System level integration, interoperability and test experience is desired.
• System level manufacturing test experience is desired.
