Requirements of System Specialist

• High Diploma or Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent with at least 5 years working experience in related disciplines;
• Solid knowledge and administrative skills to support servers and systems software;
• Master knowledge of at least 1 virtualization platforms, 2 different server platforms and 3 different systems software such as Virtual Server, OS, Oracle, HP, Clusters, Storage…
• At least 3 different server related certifications such as VMware, Unix/Linux/Microsoft Window Server, CCNA, CISSP…
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese).

Requirements of Database Specialist

• High Diploma or Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent with at least 5 years working experience in related disciplines;
• Solid knowledge and administrative skills to support database;
• Master knowledge of Oracle database;
• At least 2 different database certifications such as OCP, MCSA, SQL, IBM CDA, CCNA…
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese).

Job Duties

Incident support and fault attendance

• Provide on-site technical support to manage the Platform and Database Infrastructure operated in the Authority’s premises or at the Airport during office hours; and provide 7×24 on-call technical support;
• Diagnose Platform and Database Infrastructure faults and solve technical problems in the first line support role;
• Undertake the necessary duties to investigate and analyze faults;
• Case management with OEM vendor back-to-back support;
• Execute Platform and Database Infrastructure related configuration changes;
• Execute the administration and configuration for new and existing Platform and Database Infrastructure

Preventative maintenance

• Review system logs that include also security event log;
• Prepare deliverables including server capacity reports and health check reports;
• Conduct regular recovery drill, inventory check and maintain inventory records for platform and database infrastructure components;
• Manage and monitor the resolution of technical problems, performance, and systems resources utilization levels for Platform and Database Infrastructure;
• Conduct regular account privileges review on server systems and databases

Corrective maintenance

• Undertake the necessary duties to test and implement fixes; and performing verification and documentation work required for rolling out fixes to existing platform infrastructure;
• Patching of platform and database vulnerabilities and software bugs;
• Fine tuning and configuration of platform and database infrastructure to enhance systems availability, stability, security and performance;
• Update procedures and guidelines to facilitate the daily operations and management of the installed platform and database infrastructure; and
• Briefing and knowledge transfer to Systems Operation Control Centre (SOCC) of IT Operations, located in the airside area, which is the aircraft movement area of the Airport, access to which is controlled
