Provide innovative physics, precision mechanics, optics, mathematical analysis, signal processing and control or other scientific contribution to the design of OMEC Instrument's range of products.

Understand customer requirements including the nature of the customer measurement application and how this relates to the overall instrument system capability.

Requirements engineering, turn customer requirements/products requirements to engineering requirements.

Product design concept/solution defining, system architecting and engineering working package breakdown

Being technical expert and leading engineers on products development, review, problem analysis, change impacts and technical documenting

Working with oversea engineering group on technical discussion and technical know-how transfer

Work with project team including engineers, service, manufacturing, purchasing, project/product manager to deliver products on time and on quality

Acquire, maintain and disseminate knowledge of up to date technology and its potential application to OMEC Instruments.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED OF THE JOB HOLDER

• Graduate Physicist, Optical, Chemical Engineer, Mathematician or equivalent. PhD in relevant discipline may be useful.

• Bachelor degree or above in any of below areas: Physicist, Optical, Chemical Engineer, Mathematician, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, PhD degree is preferred

• Over 8 years product design/development experience, at least 3 years system architecting experience.

• Instrumentation products development experience is a good plus

• Excellent problem solving ability and analytical skills. The ability to solve complex systems problems using a combination of sound experimental technique and good analytical understanding is of particular importance at this level.

• Good experimental techniques, mathematical modelling of systems, ability to present complex arguments simply both written and orally.

• Ability to write programs for modelling in C# / C++ and /or experience of tools such as MATLAB, LabView and other related computer modelling / design systems.

• Good communication skills, ability to achieve in-depth technical conversion and establishing good relationships with internal and external partners.

• Proven good understanding of design for reliability, manufacture and test.

• Show innovative and logical thinking ability / skills on previous work experiences

• Project experienced, projects leading experience is preferred

• Good English skill on both writing and speaking
