JOB SUMMARY

The system Engineer will be responsible for delivery and operation of Big Data platform for the Universal Beijing Theme Park & Resort. S/he will support end-to-end development initiatives interfacing with various business technology and infrastructure groups ensuring quality and on time delivery of IT solutions.

This position requires in-depth and hands-on expertise with Big Data Technology platform administration. The candidate must have demonstrated experience in supporting solution delivery in a very high paced environment.

This is a key position on a lean team focused on opening Universal Parks & Resort’s first theme park in China and will require an individual that can work effectively & positively in a highly complex and dynamic working environment. S/he will be asked to balance a broad set of priorities and ensure progress is made on all tracks of work.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Platform Setup

?Assist in the architecture and design of new and existing systems

?Configure and optimize hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements; on cloud (public & private) and on premise

?Install, configure and maintain Big Data platform

?Must have experience in creating effective standards and documentation of systems

?Automate system administration tasks

?Collaborates with business technology groups, solutions architects and infrastructure teams for requirement collection and timely project delivery

Platform Support

?Perform ongoing performance tuning, platform upgrades, and resource optimization as required

?Assist in the implementation and documentation of platform services

?Identify capacity and performance issues to ensure uninterrupted service

?Tests and evaluates systems to eliminate obstacles and make improvements

?Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

Infrastructure Maintenance

?Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures

?Maintain automation tools used to install and configure services including hardware, server operating systems, server management software, patch management etc.

?Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required

QUALIFICATIONS

?Minimum 3 years’ experience on Hadoop, Spark, Flink, etc, familiar with distribution by Hortonwork, cloudera, etc.

?Preferred to have experience of Data warehousing on Big Data platform, such as Kylin, Druid, etc.

?Hand-on experience with Alicloud, AWS, or similar cloud platforms

?Minimum 5 years’ experience Linux Server Operating Systems

?Nice to have experience with container platform, such as K8S, Docker, or relevant products with Openshift, cloud foundry

?Experience in agile environment and usage of related tool set, eg, GitLab, Jenkins, EFK, etc

?Self-motivated & accountable, with a high level of commitment to responsibility;

?Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;

?Language – Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin);

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering (or equivalent relevant work experience).

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems is highly desirable
