Job Description for System Engineer (Protection and Automation- Design) Role overview: System Engineer (Protection & Automation Design) will be responsible for Design of Protection and Substation Automation System used for various voltage levels in India and Abroad. The incumbent will be responsible for different project of phases like Understanding the client requirement, Preparation of detail design/documentation, Preparation of load calculations, Approval of design/documentations from customer. Job Requirement: • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience of designing of Control & relay panel and Substation Automation System • Understand the scope of contract of control, protection and automation panel. • Discussion with Project Management & Sales Team if there is any deviation on Material Considered w. r, t specification, Tendering documents Like Prebid Queries. • Coordinate with customer for technical inputs for drawing preparation. • Selection of Numerical Relay, Electromechanical relays, meters and all other equipment’s as per customer requirement. • Preparation of Schematic design drawings, Protection & control Logics for Numerical Relays, Annunciation logic, TB List and Fabrication Documents for the Control & Relay Panels as per customer requirement. • Deviation list shared with PM if any changes from considered with Justification. • Documents shall be uploaded in internal tool for Material procurement, Panel Manufacturing & Wiring activities (Consolidated Equipment List, General Arrangement, Final Drawing, Name Plate List, Internal View, Bus wiring schedule). • Coordinate with Manufacturing Team & Testing for all scheme clarification for smooth Inspection. • Knowledge on different architectures RSTP, PRP and HSR • Knowledge on Ethernet Switches, Router and Firewall • Knowledge on different type of communication Ethernet, Fiber optic, Serial RS232/RS485 etc. • Knowledge on Substation Automation and Communication Protocol SNMP, SNTP, Modbus, IEC60870-5-103, IEC61850, IEC60870-5-101 and IEC60870-5-104. • Knowledge on creating and reading Panel drawings/scheme • Knowledge on RTU, SAS and HMI functionalities • Verifications of technical compliances of HW/SW systems • Collaborating for new solutions and technologies required in the business to drive new product and offerings • Excellent Communication Skills both written and verbal, • Critical thinking, reasoning and problem solving are an essential part of this position. • Candidate shall be a good team player, resilient and sincere • Additional expertise in new technology domains like Cyber security, IoT, Digitalization trends, Industry 4.0 will be preferred. • Additional knowledge of basics on Electrical Protection System will be preferred Engineering of IEC 61850, IEC-104, IEC-101, IEC 103, DNP3, SNMP, OPC, Modbus etc. protocol-based substation automation SCADA system • Engineering of control center SCADA spectrum power 5 for viewing of various substation data and implementing DMS application. • Engineering of Solar Power SCADA system and implementing PPC application. • Engineering of Power management system (PMS) and implementing load shedding application. • Configuration database and HMI building of substation automation system. • Knowledge of design tools viz. ebase, elcad shall be added advantage.
