Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in the development of manufacturing test software.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the development of manufacturing test solutions for complex computing, storage, and networking systems.
  • Experience in the development of manufacturing test hardware using custom electronics, fixturing, and instrumentation.
  • Experience generating product-specific test plans and executing testing accordingly.
  • Test software development knowledge in Python, C, Git, or Linux.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Google's custom-designed equipment makes up one of the largest and most powerful computing infrastructures in the world. The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a System Integration Test Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

As a System Integration Test Engineer, you will gather requirements and implement systems and processes required for Google’s manufacturing test and quality teams. You will support the development of Google’s standard test executive platform, data collection systems, and product specific software development around shop floor system integration, product specific provisioning and configuration systems, and partner integration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy system level manufacturing test solutions for new and existing hardware designs.
  • Write test plans and drive test coverage and manufacturing yields based on product requirements.
  • Develop automated test scripts and selected test hardware for system level test.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and root cause issues during development and manufacturing.
  • Drive issues to closure with preventative measures in a timely manner.
