The EPG Software Open Source Drivers and Technologies team is seeking experienced System Simulation Engineers to join an established team working on simulation with our Simics modeling platform. This is an exciting pre-silicon environment aimed at improving Shift-Left by enabling drivers, tools, and firmware teams to implement and test on simulated hardware models long before actual hardware is available.
In this role you'll be at the forefront of Intel's Ethernet architecture. Your daily agenda will be anything but ordinary. You will be:
- Analyzing and understanding early Ethernet controller hardware specifications
- Developing IP functional and behavioral models based on these specifications
- Working in close collaboration with the groups that are responsible for designing the actual controller hardware, firmware, and software Integrating these IP models with Intel server virtual platforms.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Physics, or related field
- 5+ years of technical development experience and/or debug experience in systems level programming with hardware software interface experience
- Experience with programming language in C, C++, DML and/or Python
- Experience in computer system and Ethernet IPs, (i.e. PCIe, device mapping, interrupts, device registers, and/or Ethernet protocols)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. is preferred
- Knowledge of network software stacks and/or kernel level development
- Knowledge of current operating systems including Linux and Windows and/or other open source OS's and/or ESX
- Knowledge of software configuration management concepts tools source repositories build environments bug tracking and project tracking

Work Model for this Role
This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
