Flex Engineering is an internal software engineering consulting organization that works with product groups across Intel on cutting-edge technologies. Flex's charter is to help Intel move faster on the most important and impactful projects such as: Autonomous Driving, Virtual Reality, 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, IoT, and Memory.

Engineers in Flex move between projects to make high-value contributions across the company while learning new skills and growing your professional network. As an intern in Flex you will work on one of these real business projects in an area aligning to your background and expertise, usually alongside other Flex engineers. Internships are flexible and can last anywhere from 3 - 12 months depending on candidate interest and business needs.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must be a graduate student currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any other related technical discipline.

3+ months of experience or coursework in the following:

• C/C++ programming languages
• One more scripting languages
• OS, memory, computer architecture, and resource management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or coursework in any of these areas:
• Embedded systems microcontrollers CPU architecture.
• Version control and continuous integration tools.
• System software engineering.
• Linux Kernel Device Drivers RTOS Open Source embedded software development.
• Low-level Virtual Platforms for HWSW simulation.
• Other programming languages such as Python Java Bash assembly.
• Software containerization experience Docker Kubernetes etc.
• Machine Learning Frameworks.
• Parallel Graphics Compute development.
• FPGA Verilog OpenCL or RTL Design
