Job Description

Employees of the Internet of Things Solutions Group (IOTG) have an exciting opportunity before them: To grow Intel's leadership position in the rapidly evolving IoT market by driving end-to-end distributed computing - focusing on our silicon platform and workload consolidation at the edge. The group utilizes assets from across all of Intel in such areas as edge computing, industrial automation, retail, automobiles and aerospace. The IOTG team is dedicated to helping Intel drive the next major growth inflection through productivity and new business models that are emerging as a result of IoT.

This is a permanent engineering position (f/m/d) to develop software for Edge Software and Systems running on latest Intel System on Chip (SoC) platforms. Your responsibility is to design, develop, integrate, debug, and validate the complex software on the next generation of Intel compute platforms for industrial and IoT Edge technology. And you will work closely with cross-organizational teams to leverage the software and systems solutions into the edge system. What the job makes unique is the work on cutting edge software technologies. You directly will contribute to the next generation of Intel platforms features. On top, you will be involved in software and systems designs from the early stages and you will closely work across a broad international network of software domain experts within the Intel corporation. This role will be sited at the Intel IOTG RnD Centre in Karlsruhe, Germany. To acknowledge that the best talents might need more flexibility in their working schedule, this position is open for part time employees in a job-sharing approach, too.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Working knowledge of microservices, orchestration and message bus concepts.

  • Bachelor or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computational science, technical or economical information technologies, electrical engineering, or similar field.

  • Language: fluent in English.

  • Significant software development experiences in C/C++, GO and scripting language such as Shell, Python etc.

  • software-defined technologies skillset like Kubernetes and virtualization.

  • ability to analyze and optimize workloads and applications.

  • Working knowledge of graphics and media architectures and implementations.

  • Experience in Linux development environment and build systems.

  • Working knowledge of software design, coding best practices and static code analysis tools usage.

  • Working knowledge of Operating System concepts.

  • Good team player and communication skills.

  • Willingness to self-educate and self-development.

  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work in collaborative environment with cross-organizational teams as well as independently.

  • Ability to work in a diverse team to meet milestones with good organization skills.


Preferred additional qualifications:

  • Software code review, analysis, and optimization.

  • Hand-on experience on virtualized environment would be a big plus.

  • Expertise in Machine Learning (AI / ML).

  • Experience with secure development lifecycle (SDL) activities.

  • Published white papers, conference papers or article writeups.

  • Nice to have prior experience with software ecosystem partners.
